got to page 4 cant be arsed to read the rest
whys everyone arguing for the sake of it? i've seen someone say theyre happy to pay more because its a nicer car etc? bollocks! who in their right mind is happy to pay such a large amount of money to use the same shite roads as people paying less than a quarter as you?
and everyone saying who needs a range rover in the city etc are just bitter or jealous, yes its a status symbol, so what? most things these days are designer clothes nice expensive cars flash phones etc etc etc

having a flash phone and designer clothes doesnt give off more pollution, put more wear and tear on the roads and it doesnt cause worse accidents. stupid comparison.

a lowered 1.0 metro probably damages the roads more than a brand new range rover, dont see how 4 spots of rubber are wearing away tarmac but whatever.
same goes for accidents yeah theyre big cars etc but nob head boy racers in 1.0 probably cause bigger ones. never see anyone come on here with threads of "my dad rolled his rangerover into a ditch on the country lanes cos he tried to hit an apex..."

Four spots of rubber do wear the roads away.

How do you think potholes appear

I dont have a problem with them increasing green taxes, but to be honest its terribly meagre - it wont serve any practical economic purpose and so the government are open to accusations that they are simply filling their coffers.

They should either lower taxes and back their economic policies, or raise taxes heavily and plan out the economy a bit more. Right now they seem in a total muddle and seem to be just waiting it out with regards to recent and future economic problems.

the whole system should be scrapped and put onto the price of fuel as already said, then your paying for what you use. With exceptions to people with 4x4s without justification and people that tow caravans, they should have there bollocks taxed off for being pointless and getting in my way on nice country lanes

How about we start up the common sense political party and reduce fuel prices to 50p per litre & abolish road tax?

Its all a waste of time anyway, I dread to think how much pollution countries like China and India put out. We are getting taxed all this shit to save the environment when the rest of the world is doing fuck all.

I'm in a rant mood today.

School is free, college is also free

Anyone can work hard to get the qualifications and if they have the motivation, anyone can get a better job.

The problem is as someone else mentioned, you're wealthier if you lie on your back (females) and let whoever fuck you every 9 months and fire out a sprog.

Same with incapacity benefit, depression isn't a good enough reason imo

Also, one thing to consider when you are saying tax the rich more, is that a tax has to be considered fair

And all this, born into poverty stay in poverty bull shit, my dad was born into a family with very little money, came out of school with little qualifications, started working on the railway (track) and is now one of the top managers in the company. Why should he be taxed more because of his drive to be successful?

The government is fucked up, all these benefits are a joke, MPs can even claim for a new fucking kitchen, why should they be allowed this?

Why should it be a level playing field, if my parents work their arses off to provide for me and my sisters why shouldn't they be able to give it to us. Why should the government take it and give it to people who don't give a shit.

Everyone is capable of making money, its down to themselves if they want to earn it.

At the moment we have a system where if someone is left 10k they are paying the samerate of tax as someone who is left 300k -- that isnt fair imo

You are right with your point on people paying the same amount of tax on 10k as 300k. But what you are getting at makes you appear stupid.

Based on the 2008/09 tax year. the nil rate band for inheritance tax is 312k, anything above that and you are taxed.

Please before you argue about taxes actually know what you are on about
