new premiums have hdmi ports aswell as elites and new cpu/heatsink layouts which is the main reason why the old systems lock up is due to the heat and microsoft cutting costs on shitty bublegum compound ive seen a video of an egg cooking on the gpu it gets that hot not that youll notice unless you open it up to be flashed or modded
the hdmi port was added for ease of use as its just one lead
there is no difference in quality between component and hdmi the only reason to get an elite is for the hd and new board layout as its more reliable i suppose

component and vga cable can do 1080p but the component cant watch HD-DVD moviesat 1080p. i do not know why :\

i love the grav lift things on the "narrows" level - if u throw a grenade on the lift it travels along it and blows up at the other end hehe

played for the first time last night, my mate was stuck on some level where that guy with bollocks on his neck sets off some rings or somethin. well hed done it 5 or 6 times so i had a go and did it without dyin once  i rule!

Game slike Bioshock which lack multiplayer will come and go. Bioshock had months and months of hype... so went out bought it and a week later its on ebay. Games like GoW and Halo will be around for months maybe years!

Bioshock was good but with all the hype about this bringing 'next generation' gaming I expected to be WOW'ed by it and for it to leave a mark. It was good but thats it!!! I've stuck the game on ebay with a starting bid of a tenner.... 6 days later no bids 
Gears and Halo will remain in my collection for many months/yeas to come. Bioshock wont

What makes me laugh is no one said anything about it not been in a high enough resolution, no game mags, no reviewers, no one, every one was like it looks amazing, then some one finds out its not in a high enough resolution to suit there thirst for lines of pixels. then its where are the other 120 lines
Looks and plays fine to me, GO BUNGIE !!!
imagine what review scores they could of got if they coded it for 720 lines

best game EVARRRR, i had high hopes for this game and being a huge halo fan couldnt wait to get cracked in. the single player mode is amazing the graphics, gameplay and storyline are top notch im right hooked into tryin to save cortana (i missed her) and online cudnt be any better apart from getting as the yanks would say pwned all the time its still amazing and makes the series what it is. 9.5/10 (would have been ten if there were 2 be more in the series)

online confuses me i dont know if my mic is working anymore also or if people in games ignore me lol.
i dont get the game types etc online yet its hard. i wanted to play vmpre but could only see as if i would host not as if i could join a game. i can join general slayer games etc but not specify anyone help

bungies response to the 640p thing.
One item making the interwebs rounds this week was the scandalous revelation that Halo 3 runs at "640p" which isn't even technically a resolution. However, the interweb detectives did notice that Halo 3's vertical resolution, when captured from a frame buffer, is indeed 640 pixels. So what gives? Did we short change you 80 pixels? Naturally it's more complicated than that. In fact, you could argue we gave you 1280 pixels of vertical resolution, since Halo 3 uses not one, but two frame buffers - both of which render at 1152x640 pixels. The reason we chose this slightly unorthodox resolution and this very complex use of two buffers is simple enough to see - lighting. We wanted to preserve as much dynamic range as possible - so we use one for the high dynamic range and one for the low dynamic range values. Both are combined to create the finished on screen image. This ability to display a full range of HDR, combined with our advanced lighting, material and postprocessing engine, gives our scenes, large and small, a compelling, convincing and ultimately "real" feeling, and at a steady and smooth frame rate, which in the end was far more important to us than the ability to display a few extra pixels. Making this decision simpler still is the fact that the 360 scales the "almost-720p" image effortlessly all the way up to 1080p if you so desire. In fact, if you do a comparison shot between the native 1152x640 image and the scaled 1280x720, it's practically impossible to discern the difference. We would ignore it entirely were it not for the internet's propensity for drama where none exists. In fact the reason we haven't mentioned this before in weekly updates, is the simple fact that it would have distracted conversation away from more important aspects of the game, and given tinfoil hats some new gristle to chew on as they catalogued their toenail clippings.
