Wiggins is more to do with time trials than out right race wins. In the tour they have sections which are timed and Wiggins is best at them.

They have the sprint which happens at the end of a race and the likes of Cav specialise in that.

Then they have the king of the mountains

Not sure I would say they controlled the 80% of the race. IMO the race was controlled by the lead away group as thats was caused all the problems - its why Cav was no-where and its where the leaders came from.

They controlled the pack so that they suited Cavs style of cycling but as soon as people started breaking away to join the lead pack they had to respond and didn't. Controlling the pack gets you nothing when there are ~ 30 people in front of you
