Everyone makes a valid point in one way or another.
However i have stood on my own 2 feet since i was 16 i paid for my own licence and bought all my cars myself and paid my incredibly high insurance myself and yes it did make me feel good about myself, being able to jump in a 206 gti insured when i passed my test knowing i had achieved it all on my own without ay help from parents and such.
But i think i would also be tempted to buy my chldren a nice care if i could afford it when if that day comes, I certainly wouldnt be irresponsible enough to buy them an M5 however, if it was to be something flash maybe a Big flash looking diesel 4x4, a mitsubishi warrior for example, Looks good but is slow as fook.
You dont buy a fast car unless your planning on driving it fast if your not then why bother buying a fast car?
Also Cosmo an m5 is alot more dangerous than a 1.2 corsa and the consequences of crashing an m5 is alot more serious due as not only is it much easier to do faster speeds its going to be alot easier to catch you out with that power so easily available even accidentally.
Comparing the safetyness of a corsa and an m5 is like comparing a moped to an R1

the fact that this little shit thinks he knows speed cos he drives quads says a lot, granted quads are fast and dangerous, but a 400+BHP beemer on public roads, isnt even in the same league, he reckons he knows how to be sensible by driving stuff off road? shows massive ignorance that he will have because he doesnt even have a bloody licence, makes me sick.

If I was a multi-millionaire and my kid was looking for their 1st car they'd still be getting something along the lines of a 1.2 Fiesta or Corsa regardless of how much money I had.
Its totally irresponsible to buy a new driver a car like that IMO.

1. Parents buy 16 yr old m3
2. kid posts up and brags
3. kid goes out driving with mates and kills them all and himself
4. makes news
5. m3board realise who it was.
it was actually a E60 M5 wasnt it ?? i remember he was trying to get top speed down a un used runway with his mates! he didnt stop in time and went off the edge ? thats wot i remember.

I see a thread surfacing in a few years similar to the lad who took his dad's M5 out and killed himself and 3 mates.

An m3 isnt a spaceship. Its just a car, anyone with half a braincell could drive one. The steering is light, the pedals are light and it has enormous brakes and tyres to go with the engine. You dont need to go on a fucking course to drive one ffs
You drive it like any other car. It goes 30mph with ease, just like a Corsa does if your not keeping your foot to the floor it wont even feel fast.
They way people talk about in this thread is halarious. Chances are he was educated as his parents have money so hes probably reasnably inteligent. He wont have to do looney shit to stand out in the crowd or get girls attention as he has an M3.
So high chance hell live just fine.

I don't. I like to know the value of money and will much more pride when I can buy one myself through hard work.
Me too, my cousin is a spoilt little brat and I'd hate to be like that.
I'd rather be broke tbh.

If it doesn't teach you the value of money, then yes.
I'd rather pay my own way in the world than have mummy and daddy hand everything to me on a plate.

Im on a PDA, I aint goign through 5 pages telling them how to live their life from the CS experts.
Just saying it reminded me of it.
I aint getting in this argument If your rich, u'll think one way, if your a normal person, u'll think another way.
Neither will listen to the others as each has been brought up in a totally different world and simply won't understand the others lifestyle.

Of course you would accept an M3 at that age, if not only for penis points.
I wouldn't be jealous if a mate or someone else had it either, good luck to them and their fancy car.

Yep it was me, and yes it is!
The people who make that sort of comment, along with the age old...'I wouldnt accept it if they offered it me' are just deluding themselves.
They would a. snatch their hands off, and b. love every second of driving it around whilst their mates are in shite cars.

Mortuary fodder.
Puts me in mind of the kid that got his old man's M5 airborne off the end of a runway and smeared what was left of it, him and three of his friends through/all over some trees.
I'll give it six months TOPS, before it's, 'same shit, different day/BMW/carnage'
Parents are just plain too rich and must be insane, stupid or fed up with having a son.

P.S american cars look cool because they don't have to have a front number plate.
They do have stupid fucking orange reflectors/side running lights though.
