Yes but id be more concerned about a bottle.
I know what you mean, but what if he hadnt intervened that guy could easily have used a smashed bottle on him.
Thats my problem with society thesse days they think the answer is to not get involved etc. im sorry but i care about my mates and in his situation id do exactly the same thing..might sound gay saying i care for my mates but thats me.

How I love this site
You could of just made it obvious exactly what you were being charged with and the reason surrounding it in your opening post - rather than being as vague as fuck and getting all shirty when the majority - rightly - assume it's a car related section 20 as you'd posted it in the car related section of a car website!

Bullshit - or I'm in the 0.01% minority.
If this lad threw a bottle at him and his mates and didn't hurt anyone - which it didn't seem to - and his mate went over to "sort him out", you're telling me that 99.9% of people on here should all go over there and give him a shoe'ing and that is what "true friends" do?
Bollocks, a true friend would of stopped his mate going over there to start on him, therefor adverting trouble and violence - that is the sign of a true friend, seeing the bigger picture, thinking of things for their friends own good and taking preventative action - remember, it takes a bigger man to walk away, going over like you did you just lowered yourself to his level.
I hope all involved get fucked over by the courts, too many feral pieces of crap on the streets these days.

I agree completely. I got bottled a while back for some reason. I didn't kick off, my mates didn't either and guess what. The guy is in prison for two years of ABH. All I can say is bye bye to the rest of his life. McDonalds wouldn't even employ him after having that on his record.
There is no need to go and show how manly you are, especially if some fuckwit has only been a big enough pussy to throw something small and harmless.

I don't. I have a decent sized group of mates, they aren't my protection and we are all decent enough peopl to never have any trouble. I don't know who you all associate yourselves with to have all ths trouble.

Not entirely tru mcdonalds would employ you with a record of gbh/abh.
My cousin works for royal mail delivering parcels and his record is the length of my arm..gbh/abh doesnt stop you getting a job.
And i wouldnt say its associateing with bad people every time ive been in fights i dont even know the people.

If someone starts causing you trouble, walk away, and if it really keeps you awake at night, go to the police. Either that, or face court

Guess my parents taught me wrong then.
I was always taught to stand my ground and stick up for myself, not walk away.
Even my father whos not even a violent man,ive seen batter somone.
Backing down shows your weak, show your weak and they will pick on you all the more.

Kinda have to agree with pshyco, he might sound like he is trying to come across as 10 men but dont think he is.
when we go out theres about 15 off us we are all quite handy but if it kicks off its always one on one unless it gets abit to out off control then we spilt it up. if your fighting and they go down you leave it.

I believe in one saying with things like this and thats what i use when i work. If i can stand up in court and say 'yes your honour, i used both justifiable and reasonable force' then i can be certain that at no point my actions were uncalled for or excessive!

At the end of the dayyou can either walk away from trouble (and report it to the authorities if you feel the need) OR you be be the hard man and face police/court/criminal record....
.....I personally prefer the first option, and if that makes me a coward by the cs panel of judges then I'd rather that than a criminal by the justice system/potential employers
