I think the MGf will be a classic, especially the first and the last ones.
With the dimise of rover that can only push low milers prices up.
This websites brilliant for current classics

I was going to get a Fiat 500 / Morris Minor / Triumph Herald Convertible for the commute for work! I wanted to get a tax exempt beast, but ive decided ive enough toys and to get a lupo instead

A decent Audi S2 will be a good investment too IMO, as will a low mileage E36 M3 (probably not straight away, but in the long run)

Yup the 17poo was the better buy - which means there will be fewer V6's about. which will make them classics.
Plus they are renaults so rust and shit reliability is their friend

I think a good S1 elise would be a good buy, ive been keeping tabs on prices for the last 2 years & they havnt shifted much!! Get a well kept low miler for 9-10k & Im quite confident it wont move much, not sure if it will go up but you wont loose much!!

It would have been alright to tow the corsa with though
I test drove one, it was a nice car but just not quite 'there'

Hmmm... is that like your idea to buy a Boxster (of all things!!)... and i quote, "to tow the corsa" You big loon
I think I test drove one, it was certainly quick but it seemed very poorly made (esp for a Jap car) and the finish inside was very dodgy...
