He was right to give him the red card, the ball was no where to be seen and the intent was there.

Thank you. I thought it was a red too, as I have already told Greg.
It was a bad challange IMO.
I think reckless = red.
Although I dont think Messi should have rolled around like that, but Del Horno did the same, why? Because he knew what he had done and tried for the sympathy vote off the ref.
I may be wrong, but didn't Drogba roll around like a fool last year at the Camp Nou? Or am I wrong about that!?

They should make a rule, after 10 secs on the floor, players are allowed to rack them with their studs, like rugby players do when players wont let go of the ball. Only its a bit harsh if you really are injured! Then again you don't roll around like a cunt when you really are injured.
No doubt though that that was a straight red. Greg you need your eyes testing!

Im not contesting if it shoulf have been a red or not. it just seemed a bit harsh as it was in the corner of the pitch and if del horno stood up to him, he would have gone no where, so it wasnt as if it was in a clear position to score

Del horno didn't stand up to him though did he! Hhe came charging over the top of the ball straight into him and tried to take him out, clear as day.

thats what im trying to say. del horno displayed some poor defensive skills and didnt think about what he's doing. just seemed a bit harsh for the area of the pitch. i suppose saying that, if it was in the corner and not in a scoring position, why did del horno take it too far?

What Barca did is nothing Chelsea havent been doing all season.
Play acting, crowding round the referee, trying to get players booked/sent off. Chelsea do that in most games, so you've just been out played and out cheated.

Picture the scene, your on a pitch, its a crunch match and there is some skillfull cocky little Argentinian taking the piss. You see him in the corner and he gets held up by a team mate, with the skill of the player its likely he will come out of it with the ball which will present you with a 50/50. So you set off thinking "i'm going to nail that little bastard" suddenly he skins the player a bit quicker than you expected and he's heading your way! It's too late to stop and you can't pull out fully so end up half tackling half body checking him with the ball long gone.
Thats my theory anyway.

He shoulda been yellow carded for the first incident when he stuck his studs in barcelonas players thigh. Then he shoulda been yellow carded for the 'tackle' on Messi. add those up, hes gone bye bye.
Deserved a red IMO

Also Terry's appalling 'challeneg; on someone after he' cleared the ball in the 2nd half was a penalty - TWICE... bundling him over and handballing (TWICE!) - the only thing for chelsea is that the ball was heading out of area but that without a doubt a penalty!

When you see the highlights again just watch Messi, he jumps up into Del Horno, goes down like a sack of potatoes and then looks at ref to make sure he saw !!
Ref was then crowded by all the barca players trying to get him sent off, cheating spanish idiots !!
Hypocritical. There is no case or leg to stand on when all I have to do is mention Robben/Reina clash, it totally blows your arguement into shit. So here goes..........
" What about the Robben/Reina clash? " Job done!!

Please say your having a laugh, you obviously have not read my replys, I have already AGREED thats Robben dives, play acts etc etc as does Drogba.
I have also said I hate all this malarky and think it needs to be stopped. With regards to Reina he also got what he deserved as he done a 2 footed lunge from behind and also lifted his hand to Robbens face, which again you can't do.

You better be having a laugh, I have been to more games than you more than likely and follow football more closely than you.
When you can say something positive please come back, also don't slate my football knowledge when you don't know anything about me or my background.

If only you knew mate, if only you knew.
" I follows football more closely than you " How do you know that then? That statement alones tells me something.
Play-acting needs to be cut out, but it won't happen while ever refs are letting it go, I think we need to see refs instant redding a play-acter, no yellows or cautions, straight red and see if they do it in the next match.

Yes I know but I don't see how i can win when time and time again I have said that Robben and Drogba have both cheated in the past yet im still wrong.
I beleive the red card was harsh, seen them given seen them not, just thought in this instance the ref could of done it better.
How you can say my football knowledge is poor and I don't know mucb beats me but i'll just laugh about it

It was a straight red. Messi had just pillocked Robben and Del Horno came in with his feet up high and bundled him over (for the second time in the game). Mourinho needs to shut up he has just had a taste of his own and doesn't like it very much. .

"The kid (Messi) is not just a very good football player, he jumps, he provokes the contact with Del Horno and because of that the referee gives a red card," Mourinho told Sky Sports.
  gotta love josé
