To be fair, Newcastle are having a very rough spell but hopefully it is just a transformational period :?
Im actually one of the few sensible geordies out there who dont think we are going to finish in the top 4 just because we have signed Owen but I do think a striker was crucial for us this season or I could have seen us finishing somewhere just above the relegation zone. Owen will get us goals there is no doubt about that and will also take a defender off Shearer so that will allow him to get a few more chances as well.
As for our poor start to the season, it maybe isnt as bad as people say. Maybe a few years ago under Robson you might have fancied your chances against Manure but how many teams will go to Arsenal and get anything? 1 point from 12 sounds awfull but if you write off Arsenal and Manure then its not "quite" so bad, bearing in mind we had only one striker who is boarderling on being past it.
Someone above mentioned that our team is shit...well I disagree. Given is world class and would walk into nearly every team in the Premiership. Boumsong had his moments against Manure but other than that he has been solid since we signed him(granted on an inflated fee). Stephen Taylor is simply awesome, regardless of his age this kid will be future Newcastle and England captain!! Our full backs are a problem but Carr can do a job on the right most of the time. A midfield of Parker, Emre, Bowyer, Dyer and Jenas is as good as most out there. How Parker is not in the England squad I do not know (well apart from Sven being a twat), he bossed the whole first half against Manure and kept Keane to a whisper. A forward line of Shearer, Owen and Luque isnt a bad prospect either in my opinion, yes Shearer is almost over the hill but he absolutely murdered smack head Ferdinand in the air on every occasion.
Question marks can be raised over the squad as if we pick up any major injuries I think we will struggle but I honestly believe we can aim for a Eufa cup spot this year.
I await a post like this from Charlene. She;s a Manchester United supporter and has all the tops so it should be easy.

Still the mighty Keniworth Road will have you rattled
Just got a feeling it could be an odd game.
Wait and see...........
On a plus note its nice to see that there are not just glory supports around.
Hence me and Nath - come on Luton!

Indeed
I've seen them go through some 'rough patches'. The dark days in Division 3, although we breezed it i'd still rather not go there again

Could be worse I guess, you could have Gordon Strachan as your manager
