Yeah, my uncle is coming over tomoz to sort it out. He dosn't think they needed to be driving it, but either way, they did the damage, so they can pay for it, i think that is only fair.

a car does not have to leave the garage for an mot to be carried out end of....Not even for emissions or anything..Not once in all my years driving has my car left the premises for an mot..
They are bullshitting, go see a solicitor if they still refuse....
My bro in laws garage had a astra go up in flames as they were welding it as the inner arches were filled with foam insulating stuff, made some mess..They still got it repaired and painted, and was a wide arch flip astra too..

Aye im interested now as well
Seek legal advice, go to the citizens advice thingy and ask where you stand as it sounds like the garage arent willing to accept responcibility for the damages.
Its best to go round and explain that if the damages arent fixed then you will be persuing a legal claim against them
But go and see the citizens advice so you know exactly where you stand

We rang citizens advice before everyone went to the garage and they have said they haven't got a leg to stand on, and whilst they are getting everything fixed, they should also get a hire car for my bro! Also, he doesn't have to get it fixed at the garage that damaged it either, they have to pay for it to get fixed at a garage of his choice. I also forgot to tell you, that they made my bro drive home 8 miles with the car in that condition!!

Perhaps explain that you have contacted citizens advice and they have confirmed that the garage is liable for the damage, explain the options the garage has and ask them what they are going to do
Tbh it sounds like the garage are being very unhelpful and you should get citizens advice to contact them, or get in touch with a solicitor (but id say thats a last resort as it could end up costing your brother)
let us know what happens

Its gonna cost a lot more than the price of an mot to fix that but Im sure they will pay up if you grief them.

When they were MOT'ing my golf, i was on the A41 and it went past me at about 130 when I was at work in an unmarked T5
Oh yes, they got severly bummed
Always something to be careful of, especially with quick modified cars and MOT testing stations

Oh my god! That is well cheeky!! That is like this bloke where we go for our MOT's (or, did go!) he takes and picks his kids and wife up from places in other people's cars! Some people have no respect for anybody's things.

They have admitted liability by agreeing to replace the windscreen anyway. I would contact traiding standards straight away and get the incident logged.
Be careful what you say and who you say it to because the last thing you want is to have it turned around into a liable case against you or your brother.
Also remove any personal/friendly contact and comunicate through post via trading standards or a solicitor. Once they see you are serious and are not going to be fobbed off they will most likely give in and have it repaired.
Good luck, although you shouldn't need it because as people have already said - they don't have a leg to stand on.

**UPDATE** lol. Well, they went to the garage, and they have decided to cough up the money to pay £260 for a new bonnet, new windscreen and everything else they have broken, except for the 2 massive dents that are in his roof. They say they can't do anything with them. Is that true??

If that was me, i still wouldn't be happy with it, but the bloke there is an asshole, so i think they did well getting him to do all that. We are going to wait until the mot is done and then tel him we want the dents done aswell.

i would get onto CAB and ask them where you stand, they should be made to pay for all the damages, they should never have to drive the car along the road anyway, and it takes about 60 mph for the bonnet to open!!
