Although Young is a good player is he the guy that will take them to the next level i.e. compete with Barcelona?

Can't see it.

Strength in depth.

Agree about not being the kind of signing we need to take us closer to Barcelona though.

How long does Nasri have on his current contract and how much would he be expected to cost? Assuming he's got 2 years minimum he's going to be £20m at least?

ALSO, Does this fair-money idea that UEFA have come in to all clubs in europe? Or is it just the premier league?

Nasri because I'd like to see Ben J try to break the internet.

I would be happy with both but don't think we'll get either of them.

The Sun seem very sure of themselves, saying the Ashley Young deal is DONE, they're saying he passed his medical yesterday and actually signed his contact last night.

Really hoping it's not true, especially at £20m, As i think he would struggle to take Nani's or Valencia's starting positions on the flanks, and there is just no way he will be competing for the second striker role like where he plays for England which is the only time he actually looks decent.

Waste of money if true and i was hoping our major signing of the summer would have been a fair bit better than him

'thesun'

tbh

I've read it half a dozen times, and it may be early morning fatigue, but does that link say "despite winning the title and the champions league"?

this too

young seems to be better in the hole, where rooney is more than capable of making Young look like generic black english midfielder

Young can use both feet, gives us more options. There were times last season that we had no proper wingers due to injuries.

Gives us a bit more strength in depth.

I don't understand the as ashley young deal, I can't see where he fits, but he is English, got a lot of assists last season in a bad team so may be a good thing, we are desperate for a creative midfielder so I'm interested to see fergies plans. At least we seem to be moving fast this year though.

I can see the premier league spending over 400 million easily this summer because the ruling only comes in for next season.

The reason I know about Sanchez is I watched him at the world cup and he was brilliant. Jones has burst onto the scene this year and ive seen nothing of him. But by the looks of it our scouts have and they seem to have got smalling for a snip of what he could be worth

I just think that unless Young can be had for a good price, not £20m, then he isn't worth it. He's no better than Valencia, Nani, or Rooney, yet older than all 3 of them.
