It's like saying an employee that goes and punches someone outside work, oh don't punish the employer by sending him to prison

Not sure how they can punish Liverpool for an incident on international duty tbh, but they have to ban Suarez.

Bite someone in the street and see what punishment you get!

Got off lightly.

LFC have stuck up for him when he's been in the wrong a number of times so it's good they have to suffer the consequences as well tbh.

Interestingly I just read it says can't be involved in administrative activity as well as the actual playing side... does that mean he can't be transferred?

forget that, they've confirmed he could be transferred

Expected more from you than that Marc. Slide tackle someone in the street and see what punishment you get. Etc... Worst argument ever.

I don't think Liverpool will be so quick to defend him this time. They have (what's left of) their reputation to think if. He'll be on his way to Spain for silly money.

Slide tackle, elbows etc are all part of the game. Sliding tackle pulled off correctly is skill, elbow could be from the way someone was running.

You don't need your teeth to play football so there was no reason why Suarez needed to sink his teeth in.

Quite a valid point I think.

Interested to see Shearer and Lineker last night basically defending giving people a bit of a dig to get out of being hugged.

Loads and loads of sheer obstruction in every game and its never challenged.

Difficult to see what provokes Suarez to do that though, the only thing you can put it down to really that at that level, he's not thinking rationally while he's in the zone. Not defending the guy as I think it brings both his national side and Liverpool in to disrepute, but its obviously a world apart from a late slide.

Supporting him is hardly poor handling. Its actually in their best interest for him to play well while he's there and be worth money when he goes. Club could cost themselves a few mil and come out and say he's a cunt, but they're not in business to be compassionate and upstanding.

Its a complete business decision to do whatever they do. Not the first time he's been rumoured to be going, so why on earth jeopardise that?

Germany look a much better side with Schweinsteiger in.
Edit: Which I suppose is stating the obvious as he's a top player

Of course its bad business. If a high profile company has an employee that is found of some bad crime do you think they would come out and support them because they happen to be also good at there job? Theres possibly far more money than even Suarez is worth to make PR a high priority, sponsors etc

Different situation, because in the working world your staff arent multi million pound assets. The only way it would be bad business is if the amount they lost in sponsorship money was greater than the value of the player.

Depends, Iv seen directors of massive companies accused of child abuse, you don't see the companies defending them, the BBC for example.

Id stick my neck out to say that any half decent large organisation wouldn't try and support anyone, no matter their value, if there was some sort of crime committed that was large in the public eye

That's a little different to Suarez. If Suarez was touching kids I'm not sure people would defend him so much.

As I said about Marc, comparing it to a real life situation is a pretty poor argument when it comes to football

You wouldn't make the old company a payment to bring said director to your company though would you.

(golden handshakes etc. aside.)

Its bad PR but they've obviously done the maths. I think the answer resides in what has happened - the cost to back him and keep his value is smaller than the cost to write him off and lose money on the sale. Or keep him when he wants to go.

But seriously, I was hoping for more from Ron. Messi is however on fire.
