Definately onto a winner id say. Closer to, well....... , everything than crail.

Very busy for its first event!

What power are you running at the moment Nic? Do you have a boost-by-gear setup?

I'd so love to see yours on slicks.

Did you read that Turbo corsa post on migweb projects? 450bhp+, standard inlet manifold, already running in the high 11's...

I think he's aiming for 10's!!!!

135mph terminal on a 11.9 run...

Nice!!!

Also, ffs, get your ass down to pod on a nice sticky surface and get some pub/corsasport/tinternet brownie cool points.....

yeah i got sick of trying to tell people 450+bhp is possible on a std inlet as nobody ever listened. even though id done it myself. nobody ever believes people that have done these things and just go with what "they" think is right even though they have no clue.

thats on drag slicks to do its 11.9 though isnt it? i can get 12.0 on 195/50/16 road legal tyres.

thing is, crail isnt an amazing surface. neither was kirkbride. so im still well happy. i dont need internet cool points. i think im cool. and thats all that matters.

Agreed. It is well behind with the Times (Dinasour Town) Nic dont suspose you who anywhere where i can get a Head Acid Dipped? What about JDM?

[Edited on 05-05-2009 by Craig P]

jdm doesnt have anything to acid dip cylinder heads. although he might know somewhere or someone that can. i will find out for you as im down there on saturday for some messing about with the corsa more than likely. plus i nee to get the blowing exhaust checked over. a mate of mine used to do metal polishing. he had a far few parts acid dipped to clean them. will ask him also.

you know where david usher is in carlisle? the pug specialist, near hollywood bowl. used to be a place on that little estate that did chrome plating. they had acid baths as i remember the spill that got that part of carlisle closed down a few years ago. maybe worth seeing them? fell is called allistair that runs the place.

Oh Damn,Thought JDM might of been able to do it.Yeah if you could do that Mate,It would be much appreciated as i really need it Done but im struggling to find somewhere.

Yeah someone told me about that Place down there,Think i will need to go and check it out.You know the Name of the Place?

Surely if there was a big Spillage though,It would of been closed down?As i know it shit hot stuff?

I always knew 400+ was achievable.

Yeah drag slicks, and only a few runs so far, one was a low 12, the other in the 11s. I'll find the post..

EDIT- TYPO HE'S IN THE 10.9 ON SLICKS

http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/projects-restorations/372822-south-african-corsa-turbo-450hp-target.html

Nahh thats what I mean, your loosing half second I think> Pod is a glued surface so very sticky. Arn't you loosing traction till your in 3rd (as in full throttle by 2nd gear)?

U'd be chasing that 11.7 by the purple rocket

i dont exactly get full traction till 4th gear. was spinning through most of 3rd over the weekend. 1st, 2nd, and majority of 3rd it just spins. i hold it on limiter in 3rd till it gets grip, then its off.

By which point your 3/4 the way down the strip....?

So much potential. Is it not worth a weekend trip just to see?

Arn't you a little bit curious as to what your car really can do?

its going to get worked upon. with it crackin over 130mph terminals it suggests to me it will do quicker than ive got with it so far. its had a knacered back engine mount for a few months. engine movement is rediculous. sorting that out asap as just ordered solid engine mounts. then it needs poly bushed on the front. then it needs in gear boost set up and see how it gets on from there. ideally i want it on 15" wheels aswell or atleast lighter weight 16's.

I'd say 16's purley for traction.

Can you run a low boost 1st gear setting, and increase it for 2nd upwards? Giving you better traction off the line and more power as you get moving?

130mph terminal would deffo suggest a mid 11 on road tyres, and a low 11/high 10 on slicks???

Don't think that guys running much more power than you?

yeah, can run to wastegate spring pressure of 0.6 bar for maybe 1st and 2nd, then 1bar in 3rd, then 1.4 in the rest of the gears. although ideally id like it to be polybushed, and have solid engine mounts (should arrive this week) before play about with the boost. get it as good as it can be without doing that, then play with electronics.
