You even ever driven a top of the range AMG any decent amount?

Have you driven one round any bends, then got out and tried another car of the same class and noticed the difference.

Yes, I have is the answer to your question

Yes, read above, we have two AMGs in the family and have driven similar cars we've owned just as much.

No chance I would have an Exige I'm afraid. Just not keen on the RS4 really, might take another look but it didn't really do anything for me

Think my preference is the M3/997 and poss AM if I could find a nice example not too far over budget.

Quote me scottish ginger bufty.... Prove it.

Or are you just another sprouting rubbish, whats next, King Daimo...

Record, change it...........

I know a lot of facts about a lot of cars, and I know facts from driving a fair few, which doesn't make up nearly the number of facts i know about lots of cars. Just becuase i talk about cars a lot, sorry, im sure this was a car forum.....

Maybe I should post all the motogp chats, or motorcycle chats, or various other things I chat about on the APPROPRIATE FORUMS AND WEBSITES.

Cosmo, thats cool enough. Me, I personnally don't like mercs. I like what they do for the automotive world, motorsport etc, so don't dislike the company, I just don't like the boaty feeling they have. Reminds me of a Calibra in terms of handling (various models, from little peoplewagon A class (?) up to them submarine shaped tampon big beefy model (two large oval tailpipes, driven by business ponces). I dislike the material in the leather (leather comes in different grades, for those un-educated), I dislike the dash, the looks of the dash, the colours used (latest models all with black/grey inside arn't as bad as previous), but it just not something i'd ever want to own.

Fantastically powerful engines though.

Clearly im being a biased anus here just slating mercs..... Some would have you think

Oh, im also in this post as Niks budget will be similar to our next budget for a car, so im taking interest.

Holding a drift does not mean it goes round bends.

Never liked mercs, hate the interior, vastly worse customer support than gets let on about (BMW n Audi, even Vauxhall put them to shame).

Superb engines, amazing in fact, but if anything tooooo powerfull (hence limited torque settings).

Great motorway/distance cars, but i'd far more likey take the BMW due to many reasons. Never seen the "appeal" of a mercades.

Even the old amazing Gullwin SL300 was a pile of dogs turd, nothing much has improved

Trust me and I would say the majority of press when they they do handle well, the hwole range has improved, even new SLK is a proper drivers car!

Evo's opinion versus yours.....hmmmm tough one that!

The E92 M3's look good, first one i've ever wanted, people would think you were mega rich driving about in the bentley, even if it cost the same as the M3.

VXR, you know that much about cars that you've just described a merc as the one with two oval tailpipes

Thats fine.

Like some people will believe anything clarkson says I guess. He's always right, just like Evo is ALWAYS right

No, they are just opinions of people. Which is what im expressing, without as much hardcore driving experience, but enough to make me think.....

Oh, sorry, thats right, i always think im right don't I...

Or is that certain people that always mention the above line.....????

Besides, can't listen to a poncy french plastic clio owner God no. Almost as bad as Saxo/2.0 Corsa owners

Model numbers of cars I do not care for so much, yes because we all remember the things we don't care about.

SL55 AMG
ClS500 AMG
CLK (older shape mode, flat arse)
320CLK AMG

Not an amazing amount, but a few to gain an opinion.

That doesn't include the derv models i've driven, which had very smooth derv engines, and very soft wallowy suspension.

Oh, above, the 500, im unsure if that was an AMG thinking about it, might just have been a normal 500.

Jesus-fing nora. If you8r not a sheep, or part of the crowed, it aint hip.....

PS, I stand by my, drifting around a cone does not make a good handling car comment.

Hmmmm wheres practially every report comparing the CLK65 (?think) Vs V8 M3 again???

I wasnt arguing because it was you, I was asking how much you have driven modern AMGs as given the amount I have driven them I totally disagree with your comments.

Unlike most, you probably do have proper experience on driving them. Doesn't mean we've got to agree.

Least yours is based on opinions also, not just some tinternet nonce kicking off, when they are ex skoda and saab owners.

Let me hold back the excitement experience of driving these cars (also of which i've driven a few models, but thats not the post, but FYI john, terrible cars.....).

Cosmo though, seriously, merc handling over bmw handling, or even audi? True Audi's are a little understeary, you can feel the weight your driving, but its involving at least, you don't feel like a walloy driver with no real feeling of the car.

Least thats what i've thought each time. Good to see someone can actually "discuss" it though.

Thanks for your opinions, i'll treat them the way I treat the rest of your posts.

Saab is questionable, skoda was an excellent car, you own a few vauxhalls though so can't really comment tbh.

See the Audi's are lifeless on the stearing, but no-where near like the mercs.

Audis are like corsas conversions, the big engines up front makes them go straight-on.

No-where near as quick as a merc in a straightline (interested to see this new 3.0 SC lump, in gear stats look good!).

I'd much rather the RS4, or the S5. Nick will say No as he's been there, but looking at the Nissan 370 as well. More umph, less weight, better handling.

The drive will tell.

What about the 370 nik, or not enough seats, and been there (yeah i know the interiors not fannytastic )

E92 M3
Jaguar XK 4.2 v8 convertible
Bentley Conti
Audi RS4 Convertible
