i always tip waiters waitresses, its a common fact they are not paid much for the work they are do. admittingly they should still give a good service anyhow but i would consider it rude not to tip one IF they have given you a good service.

tipping in america is different
and i dont mind doing it as they earn their tip
Excuse my ignorance but whats the rule in America?
well when we were there they were adding 18% for a party of 6
but they are constantly topping up your drinks or checking you are ok
generally more helpful than they are here

I tip my hairdresser, and I also tip when I go out for meals, if it's deserving. If someone looks like they are fishing for a tip they can GTF. And 10%

I don't tip if I get a average service, only if they seem like they are going out of their way. Once I went to an establishment and got brilliant service from a lass called Stacey. She made the effort to introduce herself, and made sure that everytime she went past for some reason (and we made eye contact) she would ask us if everything was ok.
I don't tip 10% though. I tip whatever I feel necessary. In Stacey's case, I tipped her £10 on a £50 meal. Don't regret it tbh.

I rarely make an effort to remember names, but she was gorgeous.
This did not influence the tip though

I tip if the service is good. If it isnt, i would be offended they expected extra money tbh.

I tip if it was good service and I don't get rushed out the door the moment I sit down.
TBH I'd prefer to just run out the door than pay at all.

I very rare leave a tip as i'm poor enough as it is. The girls that work in Pizza Hut etc are generally 17/18 year olds who live at home and have fuck all to spend money on. I can't afford resurants..
What annoys me is at the minute is people getting paid 3 times what i get paid yet do the same work, if not less. Then people asking what i was up to over the weekend when they know exacally how much i get paid and how much things cost. Boils my blood tbh!

Im a great waitress, and Im nice. But its just plain rude not to leave a tip, I wouldnt dream of leave a resturant without tipping unless the service was shocking.
I agree, though I hate I am expected to tip reguardless of what they do, but it all depends on the place serving the food. for example pizza hut no.

You can still have your coffee, just watch out for the grenades.

Could not agree more, and everywhere does this in the US, what fucks me off is it puts a $75 debit on your account until the next day then debits the correct amount.
