The fact you say 'that lancet' would lead me to conclude you don't have a clue for a change.

i agree im pretty sure its posted as a scare tactic, i very much doubt he would lost all of that mucle in such a short time, steroids are not mucle in a can even when he was taking them he put a lot of effort into it and the mucle wouldnt go that fast.
not to mention i still presume he would have trained even when off the steroids its very addictive and most people wouldnt be able to give it up cold turkey.
And given that the gym i go to is used by competitive strongmen there is a lot of steroid use in there, and i will tell you now i would put money on the fact the average steroid user in the gym knows more about the side effects and how to use steroids safly that your average GP.
A lot of the people arguing in this thread have obviously no interest in bodybuilding and have not been in the gym environment much.

But his cousin does steroids and he's fine so it's ok - and he's been in and out of prison!
So please steal from Tescos as it won't affect their bonuses and he'll still able to afford them...

Thats bs imo, total scare tactics agree with Barnshaw.
that is not a steroid side. that is genetics or some sort of infection/disease.
acne does not do that to your body.
anyway, whatever it is he obviously got that a long time after he stopped lifting.

You've never seen serious acne have you, Danny?
Google acne vulgaris.

Always scewed facts, I can almost promise it was from an underlying medical condition that steroids might have stimulated. It`s also proabably present in less that 1% of the total population (for example).
Most people don`t bother to look past the front cover and get sucked into a biased story without considering all the facts. I`m not saying this is, but I can bet there are ignorant people who will use this as legit ammo for a anti-steroid point of views. The lack of thinking depth in most people almost always amazes me.

there was a guy down my gym who took a fairly high dosage of steriods and after a while got a blood clot in his spine and is now paralised from the chest down.
there are plenty of people down my gym who take them and it really isnt something you should take without decent knowledge on steriods in general, and the specific ones you are taking.
i must admit i have never seen or heard of anything like this happening due to steriods though, and from first hand experience 95% of acne appears on the back in the form of small spots that generally calm down after a few cycles.
everyone was happy to say that steriods made that wrestler kill his family then himself, yet everybody ignored the fact that his long wrestling carrier and hobby had meant his head had taken 1000's of heavy blows which lead to his brain being damaged to equal an 80 year old man with a serious mental illness....

i do fail to see how they can compare how many times a wrestlers head was beaten then compare that to a 80 yr old with a mental illness? thats rubbish

his brain was damaged from blows to the head to the same performance and functionability to the same levels of an 80 year old male brain with a mental illness.
each heavy blow to his head was slowly causing permanent brain damage

There isn't any maths, brain activity in the wrestler equaled that of an 80 year old. Simple, end of!

i personally didnt calculate that fact, it would of been doctors involved in the investigation and autopsy with the wrestlers death.
i didnt state it to offend anyone who may have an elderly relative or friend who is mentally ill, was just merely stating a fact that the media will play on the fact somebody used steriods even if it wasnt the primary cause of death or actions
