I'll put this in big letters for Dan

IN MY OPINION I'd rather have a VAG derv. IN MY OPINION the BMW (which was lovely to drive, total cloud) lacked the punch that the VAG derv has.

Yep, theres a bloke who works for BMW who comes on the PH runs I go on and also a guy who had a new M5... out on the road in realistic driving conditions (even hammering it etc) the 535d is equally as quick but 2/3 times more economical
