Yeah iv got a heating cable looped at the bottom of my tank for the plants then iv covered the cable with a thick layer of substrate got all the nutirents in the plants need its silver sand based then put a layer of fine stones on top and yeah they real plants need to get some more though its looking abit low at the moment, what size tank you got and whats your plans?

Got it from a fish shop in milton keynes, hoppy fish farm, they do all the jewel aquarium 3d back grounds i really like the effect when i get more plants the left hand corner were the join is you wont see as itl be covered over with plants its £30 per large sheet well worth it though

Just got a little one in my room, its just the right size i think although ill prob upgrade to a bigger one later on.
Also as im running low on elec sockets i couldnt plug heater in so im having coldwater fish atm but i prefer to have tropical.

That looks cool get a multi block then you can get your tropical fish in looks good though with the cold water fish in

fruitbooter your filter is too low, you need the spout out of the water.. unless your in you bedroom ofcourse and its too loud

It is ideally placed with the spout 1cm below the surface of the water...so it disturbs the surface...means good oxygenation takes place...the valve (Cant remember the full name) should be sticking out the top of the water...
