was just watching a bit of the 24hr Silverstone race (the one Topgear were in, and is being shown this Sat) and it showed the TopGear car.
The Stig was the current driver, and the commentators said that they cant say who he is but he has raced in Formula 3 and also Nascar I think it was.

Sounded like anthony davidson at first, but then the more I hear it, its reminds me of an instructor who took me out in a Merc few months back. He was also a senior instructor at the Jonathon palmer track days. Quite a young chap.

Justin Wilson? I know he drove F1, but he came through the ranks and ended up in the states, I think in Indy car butactually he didn't do any of those above so it couldn't be him.
Incidentally his younger brother won young racing driver of the year at the Autosport Awards
