Yeah edd that's pretty much stalking to be fair 
I'd go with seth's plan for sure, don't just dive in with two feet, take a few training sessions to acknowldge her, and make a few comments about the gym imo, I find putting other people down is a good common ground  ok maybe not.
You could don your best lycra and moustahce and try:

Last time i was in one i was sitting there monged out when a fitty walked in, she kept making eye contact and then i jokingly said "jesus its cold in here aint it" and she started laughing (smooth right? thats what i thought) and as we got talking this big fat fucking hippo walked in and sat inbetween us (fitty was opposite me) so then i couldnt see her, we left the room at the same time but haven't seen her since  dont think she uses the weights bit of the gym so i wouldnt see her, may need to go swimming more to spy!
