you really think the people going to this cruise are mourning?
yeah, i do.
i dont, i think the majority are saddened its happened, but i doubt many people who are directly connected to him or his family are mourning, people dont mourn over people they dont know, apart from diana, and i think that was a bit of a bandwagon, im saddened its happened, but im not mourning, mourning is a very strong emotion, and human nature is to mourn over people you have had a lot of close contact with over long periods of time, eg family

Hmm im not directly connected with you, but hand on heart when i came home from my night out and head he has died it really hit me..and i know a lot of people are in the same position..a lot of cruisers enjoy the WRC and i think thats where it connects people. People are not heartless bastards. Maybe it is more of a deal up here, he lives near a lot of the people on strathycruise and was part of the furniture. You cant decided what people are thinking nor how they react to the death of mcrae. Ok you dont agree but dont sit and slag the life out people that, maybe not to you, genuinely do want to show their love for him.

why do they need to cruise to show there respect, more to the point, how is cruising showing there respect, cruising has nothing to do with colin mcrae?
sending cards/flowers, messages of goodwill etc are far better ways

we all get that you wouldnt show respect with a cruise, we really do get that.
But....just because its not what you would do, doesnt meen its automatically the wrong thing to do.
would i go to a cruise to show respect? no i wouldnt. however, i can still appreciate what people are trying to do for the mans memory.
if your that close minded then thats your problem, im getting bored now.. bye thread.

People seem to forget that he drove for Ford aswell and didn't he briefly drive for Skoda aswell? I dont see why all the attention is Subaru Impreza based.

I see that as a better way to pay your respects than sitting in a car park with loud music and stuff.

i was going to ask you actually, the diagrams of changing the brakes you faced me through, do you think that would be the same principal for my skoda brakes?

The way that people who dont agree with steves opinion and are launching personal attacks, names, insults amuses me.
Just shows there is no weight behind your argument thus you resort to hurling names at him.

to be fair , thier hearts was in right place thats all that matters . They could of done anything but they got together to do it. No trouble was caused and although i cant really see the point..them guys obviously thought so which is fine. So why there is people winging and moaning i think maybe you just get a grip and moan about something thats worth moaning about. The End

The point of it is to convoy to the McRae stages together, its not like people are going to be sitting in McDonalds car park

It's been on all the radio stations up here and has the full backing of the Strathclyde Police who also agree it is a sound way of showing respect to a guy that was many people's, especially in this country, hero.
I've never been to a cruise, never sat in a car park with music on, never burnt out my tyres and generally hate small groups of young people in cars but imo there is nothing wrong with a convoy paying their last respects

and yes he was our scottish hero we dont have many but when we do we hate for them to be tarred with the whole British brush only if the person was successful in w/e he or she does, does that person become British unless of course they are English
My friends and myself are going to the mcrae stages in a small convoy and will likely take flowers to rest down adn enjoy the day just like McRae would have wanted he was always wanting the show to go on
Steve you just type some pish sometimes if people want to show respect in someway who are you to say thats wrong or anyone else for that matter
RIP McRae you will be missed by all

exactly, its not like people are going to a carpark to cause hassle for people, its a convoy to a round in the scottish rally championship which Collin McRae supported, personally i think it is a fitting tribute to him
