I agree with the theory of when he's had a drink he checks what he's written.
However when i get to the point where i know i won't remember anything the next day, my major priority is to crash somewhere.

Rather than blaming it on drink. Maybe he should tackle the problems on the inside that only arise when he does drink and makes he want to end it.

its got nothing to do with the drink, there would have been other reasons
if he was able to hit the "Post Reply" button with the mouse he was able to stop himself taking pills

Some of the lads i know drink pints and pints and pints of beer a day. Proper beer monkies. One of them was told to stop drinking at 18!!!!!! He's about 24 now and still on the beers every day.
Getting rat arsed and taking that many pills won't cause your liver to break down. He'll have to be a serious beer head already and it may of added to the issue, but it won't be the cause of the liver breakdown.
Or a scare tatic. Scotts still on the beers as I say, it'll effect him in later life im sure, but at the moment, he's fine.

Or maybe i've had experiences with this kinda subject.
Pills break down in water. Not in alchol. With alchol the chances are it'll fizz and make you sick. With water (what pills are designed to break down in) it could have been fatal.

I wish him all the best on his road to recovery and I'm saddened to hear what he done to himself, however he won;t get much sympathy from me as it was self inflicted and he could of stopped at anytime - yes he'd been drinking but he was coherant enough to be posting on here and chatting on MSN so he had the capabilities to stop taking the pills.
Yeah I empathise with him as he obviously has problems which he needs to take care of but this isn't the way to do it.
I've been through some very low points in the past two years and have been tempted to do something silly on a few occassions but never has it been that bad that I went through with it so whatever is eating Eck up inside must be pretty dark.
Get well soon Eck, and before anyone starts calling me a cunt, I'm only being honest rather than just saying what I think people want to hear.

My 17 year old cousin killed himself last year over a little argument with his missus. Our family will never get over the pain it caused, and the effects it has had/is having on peoples health. He left 2 sisters and a brother who idolised him, he really had everything going for him, but, without realising, he carried out the most selfish act possible. I really don't know why people take this way out of things.

Daimo - thats not true, pills will breakdown in any liquid (just try putting one in a class of beer or whatever and you'll see it happen...not to mention the acidic nature of your stomach which will only speed up the process.
Also, the drugs themselves in large doses are what causes the liver/stomach damage, not his boozing in the past. So although your mate is fine from drinking so much alcohol (until he ends up with a proper fucked liver) I imagine he hasnt had the benefit of 41,000mg of ibruprofen in his system at one time!!
