Yeah it does - the nursery is full of other children. The fact that one of the other parents has a problem would mean to me that those parents should withdraw their child and make other arrangements.

It does affect others - who should look at their own arrangements before demanding other people change theirs.

Quite - I think this issue has more to do with the choices that parents make than the language of children.

If the parents don't like subjecting their children to whatever problem they perceive then they should withdraw their children.

I agree with Ian. If a parent has a problem with their child hearing perfectly innocent saying, then they should remove their child.

Whoever it was that told the parents of the girl to remove her from the nursery should be out of a job imo - pathetic way of handling the 'problem'!!

The outcome is, Ebony has been allowed back to nursery. The parent who complained has been advised that if she isn't happy to remove her child

this is a story of many moons ago but i went 2 a youth club and my nickname was milky bar kid (as yes at the time i resembled him )and every 1 called me it. then a few weeks later all the older lads got pulled in saying it was a racist remark even though we were all white. i said i didnt mind it i thought it was funny.

the name still sticks today but not used as much ( as i dnt wear specs )

does that mean i can get all the people done who call me that still ?

i thought the way this country is going was familiar, couldnt think of where id seen it though....ace film though.

TBH you can maybe see where this person is coming from, although a) the person who complained, why are they even taking notice, their kid isnt involved?? b) there is no reason at all for the parents' bosses to get their knickers in a twist c) did you mention they laughed about it when she came home and said it, probly not the best discouraging method to use....

1. The parent who complianed said she complained because her child was hearing this kind of talk, and she wanted it stopped

2. Apparently the bosses had to 'be seen' to deal with the complaint, its a Council run building and they have to abide by their anti racism policy especially if an official complaint has been recieved.

Honestly you would need to see the wee boy and Ebony together to appreciate how ridiculous the whole thing is, they are best buddies and never leave each others side.
