I love it when people bring the "common" factor into it.
Scoobies are more common simply because they're more popular. The higher % of the nation obviously thinks scoobies are better, who can argue with that

or maybe they were UK market earlier and thus cheaper.
The better higher spec impreza's new and old arent any cheaper to run compared to MR/FQ ranges.
I'd love a Spec C

Evo..... Without a doubt.
Go out on the bike on a weekend and all you see is, blue bug eye scooby, blue bug eye scooby, blue bug eye scooby....
Went on a quick ride just down to maidstone and saw 5 just on the way there alone!!!
I'd say the Evo for the more exclusivity.

Obviously those 5 guys got those bug-eyes cheap because they're the worst model that was released. You could always get an astra and be "uncommon"

Both great cars but all down to opinion really..........
When I bought the P1 the things that swayed it for me were that it was a 2 door, it was a UK car (all the Evos at that time were imports), the sound, I thought it looked better than the Evo 6, when I drove them both there was nothing in the performance, the P1 was rarer than the Evos's etc etc

I wish I could get a Evo to sound like a Scooby. For that reason i'd never know which one to get.
Why does the scooby sound so unique?

The standard cast Subaru manifold is what causes the Impreza off-beat sound. With the turbo being offset to one side of the engine bay (left), exhaust gases from the opposing side (cylinders 2+4) have to travel further before they are all united together in the up-pipe.

Actually, i hardly ever see any VXR's on the road. FAR FAR less than i do Scoobies... I haven't got a clue what model, gold wheels, blue paint, stainless round exhaust, brembo 4 pots up front.
As Stu said, I like the P1 model, thats awesome to look at, but those bug eye blue things are as commen as a corsa with neons at the local McDonalds..... I only see 1 Evo (driven by a lass) on my commute, I see lots of scoobies. I see 1 other blue VXR (always in london, what a plonker, 0.2mg in traffic, where he's always stationary when i see him ). I occasionally see the odd red one or black one, very very uncommen though.
I see the odd 1 or 2, I see lots of scoobies.... Someones getting very much on the defensive.... Take the ants out the pants.
Or are we not allowed an opinon?
Scooby or Evo, i'd take the Evo (why the hell did you drag an astra into it anyway? )

yes.....
Astra VXR's
How many Impreza STi's do you see, how many WRX's, How many P1's
You can diferentiate between impreza's and not astra's
An astra is an astra, an impreza in an impreza.

Unsure on specs, im not a scooby fan. They are all similar in performance anyway are they not (Scoobys?), between 220bhp (UK) and 276bhp (Japans limit?). PLus the few UK special models like that baby blue 300bhp model, the P1 (they didn't do the P1 in bug eye spec did they?)
There ya go, my knowledge on Scoobies....
Just always preffered the evo, but then again, tbh, given the cash, i'd spend it on another car anyway, but those cars arn't lsited as an option...

Yes of course, nobody'll stop daimo giving an opinion anyway will they?!!!
I just wanted to point out that whilst we were speaking about common cars it was worth pointing out that astras are more common, and if you check, you're the one on the defensive. I suck you in every fuckin time haha

UK - 204 to about 340+ for some jap versions.
All very different in perf.
Our old one had a book 0-60 of 4.3secs
They are much like the EVO's in there line up. Normal versions and STi/MR/FQ versions.
Only 2 door shells in the classic GC8 shape/years (22B, TypeR, P1) in that order of greatness
I'd love an Evo though. We've promised ourselves an Evo when we move to singapore... Love Evo 9's. Hate the 7's... just dont look right.
Hate the bug eye'd scoobs, love the later ones (around 2005)

Astras are commen.
Astra VXR's are not as commen...
As your dragging astras into it (you just want a penis waving look at me argument don't you.....), the "on the road" presence of a VXR far outweighs the lesser models in every way.
Most scoobies look very very similar...
And this is a public forum, sorry, am i not allowed to speak now...
Suck me in????? Eh? Strange lad?

Ahhhhh, i see, same shells (basically), different spec'd engines, fancy diffs n stuff?
22B was a 2.2 wasn't it? I watched them at Trax and was dissapointed? Thought they were meant to be awesome, but there were a few P1's who just left the 22B's standing? Unsure on car specs, driver track skill though.
I think i like the Evo 6 shape, wide, meaty, looks a damn blast to drive, but im sure the newer ones (8+9) are a lot more refined and generally quicker to drive....
I like Stockers shape scoobie, but not the basic models. I think with that shape you can tell the base models from the top end models much more, where-as the later scoobier shapes, they just all look the same really.
