The size of the wheels wont effect the engine power, but they may affect how a dyno calculates the power, and they will affect acceleration

I cant beleive someone asked why the guy would sell his pride and joy to keep one of the most valuable things in his life safe??? Maybe cos he has a brain and is a responsible parent unlike half the fuckwits these days.
Love the audi mate, nice choice. Safe, comy and cracking looking.

Thanks Timberland. My car was my pride and joy but once my little boy came along safety became my only issue. Glad you like the Audi.

I think its a good idea getting a more sensible car, but at least youve still kept it cool, not gone for something like a Mondeo deisel.
One of my neighbours found out his mrs was pregnant so had to sell his TVR, hes now got a Scooby WRX or STi, dont know alot about them, its got a prodrive pack anyway, much more sensible! lol

No worries mate, Im only 18 ffs and i see the logic in that, Just some people on here have to much to say when they dont know fuck all.
Your little boy is the main thing and you've done the right thing, the a4 is nicer than the corsa anyway imo.
Let us know how things go mate.
All the best and Congratulations.

cupra steve, from what i've read from you so far on this site, you really are a pleb end.
Larger wheels will also reduce power at the wheels as the tranmission losses will be greater. Requires more power to turn the wheels, smaller wheels require less power.
Power at the fly means nothing, its power at the wheels, and larger wheels will loose more power. Whats next, its more areodynamic
Paul, Daimo with D4, long time no speak (Pauls had his corsa as long as i've had mine). Still up Dunstable area?
As you say, time to move on sometimes. Well done on the wippersnapper. Old man

daimo the power the engine puts out is not affected, only the power that is transferred to the ground is affected, you dont actually lose any power as such, its just the power you do have wont be as effective at transferring itself to forward moving force

the best method of dyno'ing your car is to use a roto hub tester anyway, so no need for wheels to even come into the picture

Correct, the engines total output isn't reduced, but the power on the road will be lowered.
From memory, on my 15"s with an et of 35, i lost 26bhp through the wheels and transmission. THose on 17"s were loosing around 30bhp through transmission losses.
Not much, but it does loose power. More significant on a smaller engine.
