Look, I don't know WTF your problem is, but this thread is about what car to buy.

I have my reasons for not working, but I'm not going to explain them to some smart arse badger who I don't even know.

Thanks for your input Now it would be nice if you didn't ruin my thread further.

If you put aside the fact you are badge conscious, heres a nice wee car, quite rare aswell.

1.4 16V Sport, 26k miles and only £4k. Good buy IMO.

All of the above, but not keen on the Fabia, not a bad car, but I just don't like them looks wise.

T5POL, that's EXACTLY the same as my mate's one, so that's out of the question, we'd be like twins

This particular one had 20k miles on it and the guy wanted £7200. You can get Lupo GTis for much less than that!

JESUS WEPT!!!

I could buy and insure a decent 4X4 Cosworth for that.

be careful. some remaps are good for 10-20k but all the extra torque takes it's toll on the clutches. plus watch out for people crashing behind you as they can't see anything with the ball of black smoke that comes from the rear!!!!

They start at silly money for a decent GTTDi though don't they?
I'd imagine you'd need to start off with a 130 to enable you to get decent gains out of them aswell?

I don't need practicality really, and I don't do that many miles.

What would you get if you had 4 - 5k to spend, and reasonable to insure (under a grand), no older than 1969?

My shortlist is -

Trans Am/Pontiac Firebird

Camaro Z28

Tatty Corvette

Other suggestions if you have any, I'll consider pretty much anything

How about a nice Mustang Rob?

If only Jim, if only.

When are you going to be 21 Rob?

You'd be surprised what you can insure a nice yank for on limited mileage if you're over 21 mate.

Plus, your Mum would bloody love it.
