As i've said, except the extra costs and do it or don't, keep the cheap insurance, tax and fuel and drive around at 30 mph cos you can't afford the petrol or to buy a newer car with better effiecentcy.
you've got me there. Dont know how this got out of proportion (sp) over a economy question. All i was saying was i know hes going to boot it as thats why you get an xe corsa for the extra power and speed so i was just trying to say it can become expensive
i knew this before i got mine, i except it and love driving the car even tho at the min its off the road (sensors :lol and getting 50miles per £10 (hole in fuel tank and faulty sensors xe corsas are gr8!

it wont, it will drink less than the fiesta
no way m8, newer refined engine designed to get better economy to start with.

what gearbox you got on it tho? at 75/80mph on an f20box is about 3500revs in 5th which is high revs to be doing long distance routes.
do the same journey in a brand new ST and ill bet the ST is still going when you pull off at the petrol station.

His insurance will be sky high if he could get insured at all at 18
Road tax goes up
He's only keeping it for two years so why bother? Might as well stick with the 1.2 til he build up a decent amount of NCB then get something better in 2 years' time.

you must have a v healthy engine. was it rebuilt, reconned or do you just tell lies?
i drove my corsa home from sheffield and used about £40 of petrol but that included a few 130mph blasts (as you do! when you get a new toy) and never below 80/90mph.
havent done a long run since as theres a hole in my tank and need a new TPS sensor. Car hesitates sometimes at 4.5K then takes off, sometimes revs drop to 400rpm when i come to about 10mph (eg going over bumps)

Economy is such a head ache, i don't wan to slag anyone off but it's quite obvious if you are driving like a granny your gonna get good mpg, if your driving like schumacer you are gonna drink fuel. Right so now we have economy over, wot are you gonna do??? Get an XE or stay with the 1.2?? Just to clarify the XE will use more fuel than the 1.2 if your gonna drive it how you say your going to LOL!!!

Suely a Clio Williams would be the closest match to a C20xe Corsa? Both about the same age, same size engine, same power

I get that from a 2litre turbo.
Depends how you drive.
I could get 300miles on a tank in the XE corsa.
I didn't find Willy Clio's all that quick to be honest.
