im with davido, wether the police are considered annoying for testing exhausts is another matter, the fact is this guy was stopped and fined, the police are not stupid, they would not fine someone if they knew full well it would fall over in court!

if police have nothing they usually let you off, iv seen people doing 70 in 30's followed by police and getting let off obviously due to lack of evidence.

i have seen others as cocky on here take things to court giving it all that only for the courts to fine them.

the CPS does not want to look stupid and will fine you

You are right about one thing, coppers usually do get their way in court, because where there is a lack of evidence a court usually sides with the judgement of an "experienced" police officer. However doesnt make it acceptable for the police to hassle an innocent motorist, for driving sensibly in a car with a loud exhaust at a reasonable time.

i guess the results of the test (to which we dont yet know) will determine if the exhaust was reasonable

at 86.6 at a steady 4000rpm (which it never reaches in town) is reasonable i'd say,

and regardin your previous past steve im not 'giving it all that' if i lose and get double the fine then i'll take it, but because some arsehole copper stopped me and decided to be an arsehole im not going to go along with what he says,

from what i see around corsasport you like to have an argument, i didnt start this thread to argue with people,

you sound a little bit old before your time, unless you are a codger that is

Can understand why your standing up for yourself shep , provided they genuinley were "arseholes".

But it annoys me very very much when you hear the people on here say who police are useless etc. Which isn't something you have said but what others have.

Annoys fuck out me

police officers have to sit exams, not every numpty that wants to be a cop can be. Traffics have to sit more exams.
Police officers are also underpaid in my opinion (considering the shifts and the stuff they have to deal with on a daily basis)

The main fact is they are humans not robots. Some may be lazy and not know as much as they possibily should, but thus is life.

Police officers are there to do a job whether it is randon stop checks on cars, stopping a modified car that looks shoddy and could possibily be dangerous or have illegal insurance as some do (just have to do a check on here with some of the xe's and there V5 details)

The police officers are there doing a job, stick to the law and you should have nothing to worry or moan about

stick to the law and you have nothing to worry about eh, thats funny have you even read the thread, shep was sticking to the law and he got a fine!

And im no police officer but im sure if a police man sees a young lad they will give him a fine and just assume he will pay it and not take it to court any way, as tbh most people would just pay the fine; not many people have a clue about the law so they would pay it regardless if it may not be a safe fine ect.

And totally my opinion but every time i have needed the police or my friends have needed the police they have been useless, only thing they seem able to do apart from harass innocent hardworking people is give fines out.
