Bad luck car, I prefer smaller Cars but i've gotta say MG ZR and Astras are nice looking cars. Mate recently bought a ZR for 4k.. It's the sexiest thing ive seen

Horizon, if your mate has a 106 Gti 1.6 16v, it will quite simply kick the crap out of any standard corsa.

Since your 16, how old is your mate?

There's no way your mate could get insured on a 106 Gti under say 20! Well it'd be bloody pricey.

I still think he has a normal 106 kitted up or just a quicksilver 1.4 8v.

Go online, and do a online quote for a 17 year old bloke, to get insured on their own on a 106 Gti.

When I was 17 I was quoted £3800 to get insured on a Saxo VTR, so I think a Gti will be silly

The quicksilver only comes in silver hence the name and is a 1.4.

You can usually tell by the door handles, the quickys handles we not colourcoded just came in black

Gotta love track abuse...

It's getting another good thrashing at combe 22nd of july

Slightly worried about what lynny said though - since my remap I'm constantly revving it to like 7500 rpm or more and I think the bottom end is just gonna fall apart.

ask rich about the problems he had with his, scarey! one was off the road for a couple of month iirc, think that was down to not servicing etc though, started as light tapping then felt like piston was going to go through bonnet! not to mention problems with clutch, gear box, general squeaks and weird noises! good cars though....

Mine feels slow when I drive it these days, think I'm just used to it. I get a mate in the car and they're like hanging onto the hand rail thingy?

It does suprise a lot of bigger cars, that just think 'poxy french hatch'

the beauty with the 106 gti is, it's probably the last of the hatches to be on a diet - after the 106 gti, all hatches started weighing well over a tonne! with air con, safety features, etc etc.

yeah ill admit theyre quick, and very light which gives them the edge over other similar cars, however build quality isnt what it should be. for example when i was in crash in march, main reason we came off so well is because my car is built like a tank, had i been in something like a corsa or 106, i dread to think what a mess it would have been, state of his micra was bad enough!
