Danny i do agree with you thou, but this is the net and you dont know what has happened in real life.
Yeah i agree with that, i dont know why she is in the situation shes in, and thats got nothing to do with me.
It just anoys me personally how someone who gets a free house or whatever of the government can afford to buy luxuires that add up to that amount each month, when they have done nothing to earn that money, and its efectivley been paid for by people like me who go out to work.
Tat goes for everyone out there on benefits, not just Karen.
What about the single parent families who work but still need certain benefits to get by? You don't know what your talking about.
totally agree with u katie. me and my partner have kids and have to claim tax credits/working tax credits to get by. this dose not make us scroungers.
its even more difficult when ur a single parent and trying to work at the same time eg child care costs.

Not being funny but if I had a kid I think I would contribute more than a fiver a week towards his/her savings FFS...
* obviously this would be hard if I wasn't working etc.

Working Tax Credit i have no problem with, as at elast the person is working and giving something back to the world.
Thats a lot different to someone who claims Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance, these people dont work, and therefore are giving nothing back to the world and living off the good people that do.
Maybe i have a certain view point on this subject as i deal with these sort of people on a regular basis, and 95% of the time, if you add up a particular persons benefits claims it will come to MORE than someone who works, which IMO is totally ridiculous

maybe he has alot of savings already
Unless the kid currently has enough to buy a big house, cash, I would keep saving. Unfortunately for him, he can't fall pregnant and will have to buy his own house rather than live in someone elses for nothing.
VERY well said!!

Typical womans comment!!

People seem to be blurring the distinction between benefots thru working or child allowance and the benefits of havbing aFREE house and not working at all

Last time i spoke to her about a month ago she was looking for a job.
If I was a farther and split up from the mother then I would want to support my child as much as possible. Also, I would want to spend as much time as possible with them.

Lets be clear here, supporting a child is difficult.
I was just worried about the priorities.
Like I say, if the kid - or any kid - is doing OK then sound, have some luxuries. However lets push the boundary of 'OK' and say well if they have what they need and only that then give them all that and more. And I don't mean spoil them with toys, I mean first time buyers are already goosed in the current housing climate, its already difficult to get an education without incurring debt which will further hamper your ability to set up home, we can warrant again those difficulties - the child is barely out of nappies.
18-20 years time some forethought now will be welcome.
Alternatively, you looked good 20 years ago.

I will have my 2p worth
before i had my 8 year old daughter i was 19 and had a huge life and career infront of my, i was already working up the ladder as a merchandiser for a huge company.
being 8 years ago there was not alot of help for parents to get back to work but in approx 2000 the government brough in "new deal for single parents"
i instantly went to the job centre and they helped me get back to work and find childcare for my daughter.
i met my husband and we had a second child and i carried on working and so did he and it was VERY hard managing with 2 children and a mortgage at such a young age.
unfortunately when he left me i tried very hard to continue working but couldnt manage on my own, it really did my nut in not being able to go out and earn my own money.
eventually i moved to norwich got myself well established within the royal bank of scotland and my 8 year old joined me in may this year.
unfortunately i couldnt manage child care for both so we only have hollie here the school holidays. her dad supports her the rest of the time and thats how it should be, split between both parents.
I am now doing really really well in my job and i am very proud that i manage a career and my daughter and LOVE being able to provide her with horseriding, football coaching , music lessons ect ect
I am proud to be a working mum and there is NO reason why anyone else cant do it
And now I have the means to save and secure my childrens future

Her son isn't even two. Why have a kid if your going to leave it with a different person everyday whilst you work full time and not even see it grow up. Atleast Karen is with her son whilst he is small, you don't have a kid watch it grow up with other people and only see it for 10 mins in the morning and ten mins at night. love is better than material things, and to me he looks well looked after and well loved.

I dont leave my daughter with anyone, i work the hours she is at school
I could say why have a child if you cant afford to support it without draining the social
You dont have to work full time, there is such a thing as part time, and there is nothing wrong with a child going to private nursery and mixing with other children
Thats like saying while a child is in full time education you miss seeing it grow up
ffs get a grip on yourself
