I would have to go with the following:

- When you are able to use the site intuitively.
- When you are able to post good questions.
- When you are able to offer good replies.
- When you have become part of the meet/event scene.

I would NOT have to go with 'when the regulars start liking you' as has been said. You're not a newbie after you start fitting in, some people still have not yet graduated despite the maths of their reg date.
