Donna.

Why, shes a damn good accountant. She knows a lot about a lot of things. She has stripped down her 1.6 16v engien herself as well as a lot of other work on her car over the winter.

She is not dumb, and is one of the smartest women i know.

Yes I see this intelligence over the web, as she answers things in a straight forward manner and she seems to have alot of common sense but I wouldn't really know if anyones 'intelligent as such' from here cos' i've held a conversation with them in real life

Agreed yes.

But, for example.

Donna at the end of 2003 knew nothing about engines really, god knows i've explained it to her enough times This year she went about sorting that and can strip an engine better than me now A thing i plan to sort out this year too

Thing is, one thing i've noticed from working in investment banking and law firms is that just because you have brains doesn't mean u can have commen sense.

MAny many a fee earner have i encountered that are very very clever, but have sweet FA commen sense and in the real world act liek weirdos

I think Donna would fall in the middle. Pretty clever, lots of commen sense.

no intelligence is not about remember certain bits of data. any fool can remember certain facts and figures. the ability to learn from mistakes and being able to think makes you intelligent.

good example. I consider myself to be intelligent. I have two degrees and work in a professional area. I could show you how to do my job quite easily but if you got a problem you would you be able to work out a way round it. now some of that does require some degree of background information but being able to take it from the facts and doing something about it is different. there are some students that have come through my labs with better degrees than me that were just plain stupid
