lewis hamilton was dreadful. obviously been told to take it easy and no to have any off's, whereas the ferrari's seem to have been told to just go for it.

Not sure you can say he was awful. His car did not look very stable at all where as the ferarri/redull looked much better. If Hamiltons drive was dreadful it makes Button look like a driver way way out of his depth along with a whole group of drivers.

It looks like in the real wet the Mclaren just isn't there, as soon as it dries off so there is not standing water it comes alive as shown then hamilton was clocking 1:43s in the Q2 where all the others were really struggling.

schumachers car looked even worse than hamilton and he ended up 3rd

I think what Rob said is most likely. The car looked all over the place, how he held that slide on his fastest lap was beyond me.

He's been under more pressure in qualifying and come up with the goods, he had 3 laps and he wasn't even close. That suggests it was the car, not him. He also checked the heat of Alonsos tyres at the end, which could suggest he couldn't get his front tyres switched on
