Yes but they don't want to cos they're lazy, they want the insurance company to arrange collection.

Do you think if i ask the Vauxhall garage, they might let me put a Steinmetz rear bumper, and bigger rims on it as they're doing this work (if it isn't a write off)

sorry to hear that mate bout the car, i did the saem the other week. skidded around a corner in rain at a high speed, flew over a curb and slammed into a brick wall at at least 40mph. but my car was a write off, it doesnt sound like urs will be a write off especially cos its worth over 8k so they will decide to fix it instead at wotever cost.

hope things work out in the end, i came out well wiv mine cos i was going to sell my car for just under 4k in a few weeks anyway, so wen the insurance gave me 4k for the car i was pleased and i also ended up with the car i was going to sell my corsa for. so i am very pleased, then again my renewal aint come yet!

hey man, sorry to hear this - what did Dan say?

Nah let Vauxhall do all that and let the insurance company pay.

Does your dad pay your insurance?
Did your dad buy you that car?

not having a dig or anything, but if I was to have a big crash - 1 thing I would be shitting about would be how bad my insurance will be in the future!

I'm on my Dad's name at the mo. Spoken to Vauxhall and it wont be a write off, but its a good 3k - 4k of damage, maybe more, they wont know until they start dismantling it. No bodywork has been damaged apart from the clips that hole the arches and bumper on but they'll be replaced.

If i do any mods now they're gonna have to be Irmscher ones, or fully approved by the insurance company before i put them on, things like this don't scare u till something happens.

Also if i'd of bought inferior wheels i might not be alive now, so im glad i got Vauxhall wheels, and if i buy aftermarket wheels i'm gonna make sure they are fully safety approved etc.

Ok heres the score now -

Because i had my car transported to my local vauxhall garage, which isn't a recognised repairer with the insurance company they needed confirmation from the engineer.

The vauxhall garage faxed the engineer and was told the engineer should respond within 3 days to allow the work to go ahead, well from some reason the engineer didn't like the sound of quote from the garage, and wants to come out to see the car Which is slightly dodgy as it has a few mods which aren't declared.

So now i'm going to have to get the car taken to hatfield and repaired at "churchill" where i dont want it to be repaired, also i think i should remove my induction kit and *cough* Sri Badges *cough*

The amount of time this has taken and its got no-where, i could have had my car repaired by now if we didnt have to go through all this shit.
