VXR you sound like a Ring veteren! How many laps you done? I think that is a great drive by James there, unfortunetly on video where you can't die it's an easy circuit to drive! In reality when you can die it's a little bit harder.

Can't comment on how late your braking, dunno if you were getting fade or not, but if not and theres more braking availble, I can see a 9.20 flat on the cards. Get that fat bastard next to you out the car though
I'd say the over-stear is more due to no less weight in the back? I found my corsa had this as its lighter and poor weight distribution. In fact, get willay strapped down in the back Good effort that, slightly more to come, not too much, but deffo more there Good lap though.
No offence Daimo, but I think you need to get out there and at least do a couple of laps and post your vid up for feedback, before you pick holes in James' lap.
- Anyone can watch a vid going 'oh you could go quicker there, brake later there etc' - but trust me when you get to the ring you'll see the true difficulty is the fact the track is sloping off all over the place, bit rises / falls, bumps etc. 99% of people don't do a 'perfect' lap. I'd say most don't even drive the lap slightly committed.
That was a pretty well committed lap by James, don't think there's an awful lot more he could've got out of it without more power.

james understood it as constructive help to improve his lap time and not a flaming, so please crawl back out of his ringpeice.

Paul: Agreed!
Is VXR that guy who used to go on MIG called cupatea? The one that rides a bike and is best at everything? The one that once told me that I shouldn't need to switch of traction control at brands in the coupe as if it comes on it means i'm pushing it too fast into a corner? If so LMFAO at the 'expert' muhahahahahahaha and a few more ha ha's!

Quite like it up his ringpiece TBH so think I will stay there for a lil longer! As i'm here I might as well continue! James is a nice guy, so prob didn't want an argument. However nice I am, I don't mind an argument! Plus as i've been to the ring and know how it is, I can argue.
Like the great Rafa Benitez once said, it's all about the FACTS.
So I'll list them:
- You've never been to the ring
- You've never been to the ring
- James did a sub 10 minute in a 115bhp astra
- You've never been to the ring
- You've never been to the ring
- James has at least 10-15 laps experience, which makes him more qualified at the ring than you
- You've never been to the ring
- You've never been to the ring
- He is an elitest which means he is untouchable!
- You've never been to the ring
- You've never been to the ring
Hope this helps!

i actually also know jr for a long time. im not the little keyboard warrior i once was, im happy to see some of us do mentally grow. im not getting into a penis waving row.
driving quickly round a track is the same where-ever. it was help, stop turning it into negative abuse. end of, flame and whinge all you want.
i know jr well eniugh to offer advice, that isnt criticising his driving.

it isnt the same everywhere, commitment levels are very different on somewhere like the nurburgring in comparision with say, brands hatch.

dude a couple of laps of brands hatch and you can start hooning it. I've done near 20 on the ring and still wouldn't commit fully! I don't think you could EVER learn the ring and get a perfect lap! plus traffic and watching whats behind you!
Glad you've grown up.

Also the fact that if you do go off it'll cost you alot of money, plus the car!
Gav unfortunetly had the mishap of finding out last trip. It's not a nice place when it bites back.

i know this about the ring.
thats not denying what ive wrote will aid a faster lap if applied. even u should see that if your not just going off on a rant at me.
it just depends how committed u want to bbe and how much trust u have about not binning it. which i appreciate is a huge factor at the ring.

Very impressive James!!! Thats a fantastic lap time considering the lack of power on the straights! (of which there are a fair few, especially the back one up the hill which would of really hurt your time). Speaking of which, any idea how fast the Astra was going up the back straight? I remember a few years back my Calibra 8v wouldn't pull past about 85! lol, I actually had to change down to 4th because it was struggling so much. The Fabia was holding about 115mph this year.

Yep, I checked the speedo at that point as I do in most cars I go out in as when I was out with Fad in my VXR last year the speedo hit 130mph and Fad also saw that.
The Nurburgendy was doing 90mph up there, same for the Polo GTi.
I did notice the R26R that Lee had was doing 120mph at the same point also.
