If you're having second thoughts, there's a cooling off period. Still time to find something else.

(which won't cost you your relationship or you arm, leg and kidney in interest)

That's about 9-10% APR. But if you have bad credit you couldnt have got much lower I doubt. Fuck it, go for it. People get mortgages and end up paying well over the odds in the end. Unless you have £11k burning a whole in your pocket you're always going to pay more than its worth.

Never mind the interest, that is a long time to be paying for a car

Cool car though

It's actually a little over 13%! Defaulting on a phone payment years ago shouldn't effect your Credit that much as long as you've been a good boy since . It'd be worth a phonecall to your bank to see if they'd offer you something better - 8% is about the norm but Ironically just under 10% makes your monthly payments £230 .

mortgages are different though. 25-30 years after you take it out, you're very likely to get all your money back + more on the raise in house prices.

granted, people who bought just before the recession will have paid over the odds, but in the long run it's an investment that will rise in value most of the time unlike run of the mill cars.

.

I've just been looking on Vauxhalls site and can't belive the price of new Astra VXR's - The RRP price has gone up just over £2.5k since i bought mine 2 years ago!

Oh and if you need a get out clause tell them there's no such thing as a Power Red Corsa VXR - It's Still Flame Red on the Corsas... happy polishing!

she's paid money for a mini...end of.

you are getting a car of much better quality for less money. Tell her to stop moaning and worry about her mini falling apart soon...

Yes mate, with PCP there is a balance left to settle at the end, in this case £4900.

Yes they both work out at about 15k in total but with the 60months i could still trade in after 3 years and forefit the remaining two years interest. Like ive said though, im going to call this morning to see if i can get any of my deposit back.

in all honesty the PCP we have is great value

basically 1280 down (10%) and 230 a month for 2 years with final balance of 8.5k

Therefore if the car is worth more than 8k after 2 years I am going to buy it and sell it on

if it isnt im giving it back

That does sound good value, the VXR was 11k and they say it will be worth 5k in 3 years so thats a depreciation of 2k a year. The mrs mini was 14k and they have said it will be worth 8k so again 2k a year depreciation on a car that is supposed to hold its value well. Do you work for Vauxhall?

nope although the missus mother works for Asda so we got 10% partners discount

basically we got a red VXR with 18's brand new for 1280 deposit, 230 a month with a start payment and end payment of 368 with about 8.5k to clear at the end or give back in 2 years time

Got ya, sounds good. Just spoke to Vaux, they wont give me the deposit back. Suppose its my own fault for rushing into it.

not really tied in though, i get cars on finance, then after 2 years, just hand them back, clear the finance and start again on new car. Means i never have to pay to put a car through MOT, dont need to worry about depreciation/selling it etc. Best way imo
