Big gains from a small capacity engine that I'm sure wasn't designed with that kind of power in mind. Turbo or not I don't know too much about the Starlet's but I would have thought quite a few internal mods would be needed to safely run that power? Just a surprise on the capacity that's all

few cars which have suprised me in my time

Mk4 golf GTI 20v turbo - Very slow compared to what i was thinking

Mk5 Golf Gt Tdi140 - (Standard) drives amazingly well, good power output and handles very well

Porka 911 Turbo - ($20k of mods or so i was told) 0-135-0 in what must have been 10-12 seconds to this day i cant believe how fast that car is. At the time i was speech less

Bmw 540i 6 Speed E46 - Rare in this country, my uncle took me out in it and could believe how quick a normal looking family salon was

Merc Cl600 - Again my uncle took me out in it down the motorway and I thought to myself wtf is he going so slow, felt like approx 30mph so i looked at the dash to realise actually we were doing 80mph

Pulled over and had a talk with the driver and he says they did a fwd version and a 4wheel drive version at 180bhp? dont know how true that is.

Also 1.7cdti's are pretty good for diesels and im considering one for my next car but iv been told i can get alot more car for the same money.

You didn't expect a 911 to be as quick as your Focus? Really?

old audi rs2 estate with 5 pot motor, porcshe brakes, wheels, fibreglass doors and all sorts was a right hoot! theres a million cars i could say dissapointed me on the performance stakes though, namely scoobies, evos and so on arn't as fast as you think standard.

VW Passat with my dad in his 280bhp WRX. Neck and neck along the Dual Carriageway and I could see a faint W8 badge His car looked absolutely effortless. Started pulling past beyonf silly speeds, but very slowly.
