right if its a 70mph road...then i believe ure allowed 10%...so thats 7mph over 70??? so 77mph? If your speedo reads 80...u wont be doing 80 and most probably 77 or under?? May well be wrong but ive never had a car that wont be 3mph out or even more at that speed. End of the day...nothing to worry about as u cant change anything mate

I honestly doubt you will get done for 74mph.

Was just about to quote this, someone's been sniffing glue

And even if you get a letter for one of these, ignore it. I got done on the way up to Crail at 88mph in a 70, got a letter of intended prosecution a week later and replied to it basically saying it was me and filled it all out.

In the time between I sent this away and recieved the penalty notice though, I found out that about 60% of these types of fines the police send out don't actully have the evidence to back them up - the time period for receiving the letter of intended prosecution doesn't give them enough time to go through them all. So they take a chance, hoping that people will just bend over and take it without questioning.

After finding this out I didn't reply to it, got about 5 letters about it saying they were taking me to court but it never happened. Now here I am more than a year later 3 points less and £60 up. True story, I've got the old letter kicking about somewhere.

no tommy, in a 60 zone a van may only do 50mph. my mate didnt know this at the time and thought like most, doing a couple mph under the 60 would be safe. but wasnt.

I stand fully corrected. I had to google that, cos I'd never heard of it before!!! Everyday is a school day!

The law's fucked up when it comes to things like that. Stagecoach coaches fly by me on the motorway up here doing about 80mph sometimes.
