i've owned both at the same time.
i like the gsi for looks, bit that's it. i found i really boring to drive, but it was pretty standard.
i really liked the CTR, it felt alot better than the gsi.

I would say the only two main things going against the civic are the insurance (quite a bit more then the gsi) and the tuning is less bhp per £ spent

get a leon or s3 instead. faster than both and will go like shit with a stage 1 map. easy 260bhp

Been out in my friends leon cupra and it didnt feel that happy at attacking roundabouts etc. Wasnt going to spin off into a ditch but had alot of roll etc to it
