Don't worry mate. I'm a chav. I can live with it. I'm a chav with all the other corsa owners who have intercoolers hanging out of their bumpers.
I'm just jelous because i can't afford an M3.

lies, you know fine well if you wanted to get financed up like the other m3 owners on this site you could afford one same as they can.
id rather be chavvy than proud to have masses of outstanding finance tbh.

As long as the intercooler has sufficient ducting and venting to direct cool air into its fins it should be fine for optimal gains hidden or not.
again, these cars arent a corsa. they dont have a corsa size engine bay. they are "DESIGNED" to be how they are. a corsa isnt. under bonnet temps suffer massively on a corsa. ignore other manufacturers and other cars that have been "DESIGNED" to work like they do. corsa, you have turbo close to rad, rad close to intercooler.
jambo basically didnt explain his first reply enough. "hidden is best" doesnt mean put a bit of mesh over it so it can still get the full benefit of air flow over it. well maybe not to me. im sorry i dont understand that reply to mean that. my bad.
To be fair the engine bay in a 911 turbo, an eb110 or ferrari F40 is pretty cramped to say the least. And i know all about cooling problems with the corsa bay as my V6 used to overheat a lot and took me a while to solve airflow problems.
The way luke has his intercooler isnt bad, but it would look better set further back with a grille/mesh over it to conceal it a bit, so it looks like part of the car rather than an after thought.
And as for his M3 being part of a snobby lifestyle, maybe he just got tired of an unreliable corsa that was horrible to use as a daily driver and wanted something more respectable to use everyday without fear of something breaking and that was designed to handle its power... dont forget the E46 M3 was noted as the best handling FR coupe.

until the core heats up and the radiator heats up and it takes far far longer cool it down. then it would actually be a lot worse and the problem of being chav would be gone, but performance would be the new problem.
