Give everyone in the UK a million quid! Are you for real? If we did that then our money would officially be worthless!! Not to mention the fact that we would have absolutely NO economy!
It was £10000 and it was John McCririck

So??
If the country needs money then why not sell something they already own? I'd be more pissed off if they raised taxes to pay for something whilst they're sat on a pot o gold

And do people understand why these companies are getting bailed out? Because a lot of the people I've spoken to seem to think it's just a senseless free handout

Because he sold it on a low having advertised the fact he was doing it. And we've nothing left now but we're still in trouble.

It makes me laugh all the people slating the government. The state this country is in now, do you really think the conservatives could do a much better job?

only just read through this all, not a huge follower of politics so cant really comment on anything.
but we need to stop the following imo.
- Wasting money on murders and rapists and repeat offenders and just kill them and use there bodies in an incinerator, with the amount of scientific stuff about noadays im sure its not very often someone gets sent down falsly (sp).
- stop giving out money to chavs who have 27kids at the age of 14 and cant work because of there own fuck ups. and generally stop giving money out to people who are out of work and not trying to find a job.
- shoot chavs in general (they serve no real purpose imo).
- stop trying to control people and monitor every single movement they do.
- pull the troops out of afgan and let them get on withit themselves, (if they get out of hand nuke them ).
- stop putting so much money into the eu which when we dont get much back from it at all.
and like someone else mentioned in here i dont see why we cant just start a fresh.
sounds stupid but i swear a world without money would be so much easier
as for the governments/recession i dont think any party that gets voted in will get us out, we'll just get out of it in our own time.
i predict world war 3 tbh.

Selling it wasn't the problem, selling it when it trebled in value a matter of years later was.

Isnt our money a representation of the value of the gold?
