Daza actually put more effort in by putting the rear window bit in, actually replacing the wheels and putting stickers on it, yet he doesn't have as many votes as Cosmo?

You need to look more closely then. Its lowered, front wheel is moved out into the arches more too and the rear has been tucked further in.
As said it wasnt a finished job and it wasnt meant for entry...but people obviously think its better than your colour change and wheel change - big whoop.

I guess some people are just bad losers when it comes to things like this.
Its like entering a special needs child into the Olympic 100m race - they'll try really hard but at the end of the day they'll still get beat by the fastest guy in the world going at a tenth of his pace.
Daveskater is the special needs child and in the 100m sprint champion in this case.

He's clearly done a lot more than that 
From what I can see he has lowered, colour change, smoked indicator, bad boy bonnet, changed number plate, wheel change, de-locked, red ford badge, took of mud flaps and removed rust.
A lot more than what you have done.
You might has well have just posted the original image up

Exactly, there's 5 other things as well. The writing on the front arch is gone, the annoying yellow line thing is gone, the front quarter and A-pillar are smoothed together, the indicator is tinted slightly red and I altered the sill line slightly, but I didn't expect anyone to notice the last two.
