haha i know where you mean. i used to see how fast i could go round the micklehead round-about. going from St.Helens towards Rainhill Stoops. Loved doing that. Think about 70 was the fastest and i nearly spun it doing that speed so wouldn't try and faster haha.

5 minutes from where I live to get to Aberdeen; I only know one person that has done it officially - was in a Fiesta RS turbo...
It's roughly 6 miles but the majority of the roads are all 30 limits.

When my did sister was said to be missing by her school, Dad made the journey from Chippenham (junc17) to Windsor (Junc 6ish) in under 45 minutes.
Average speed was about 130 in a TDi A3

You ever attempted them speeds in a Clio? The most I got mine to was about 135 and it was bouncing and swaying everywhere, theres no weight in them. The cars youve done said speeds in are all heavy cars. I can sit in my Vectra at an indicated 130mph all day long it just cruises, clio on the other hand felt very unsafe.

For the Fife lot in this thread me and my mates used to have the "Bridge test".. Come off bankhead roundabout heading to Kirkcaldy and see what you can get as you go under the bridge.. 125 is a decent speed, anything above is quickish.
Best ive had was 140+ in my A8 and over 150 on the bike..

Aberdeen to Glasgow.
Roughly 150 miles.
1.5 hours.
Totally stupid, but wanted to set the office record.

Coming over the Kincardine bridge heading towards Glasgow, taking the big sweeping bend as quickly as possible. The road goes from a 70 to a 40 back to a 70 after the bend, think i managed to carry 90 in, hold it through the bend and be doing 120 before joining the motorway.

Sorry but I dont believe that for a second.. There is no way on this planet you can hold 90 round that corner..

Used to wait for them to ring the first bell at the inn the RSOC meet was held at and then get to a specific favourite pub for a preferred bevvy before the last bell was rung.

Leaving Dundee heading up the A90 to Aberdeen I always try and see what speed I can get at the first bridge. Think its like 90ish in the vectra.
I often see how fast I can do Coventry to Dundee - 4.5 hours is my record so far.
