Its just how it goes pal, alot of people have moved on from the corsa and bought better cars but stayed as regular members of the site.
yeah i know, but i feel danny lads angst against corsas was unjustified. the thread was asking about an ibiza or a 172. of which the 172 is a far better car.

I didn't ask about a 172, was just a general comment, I aint too keen on the old ones as I said.

In what way is it better???
A close mate of mine had a 55 plate 182 with very low mileage and its had more squeeks and rattles than an early learning centre. his exhaust rotted off not long after he had it as well There not that quick either, my old XE gsi had no bother with them in a straight line.
I suppose on a twisty road there pretty good but isnt all french cars in the bends.
My old Ibiza cupra was goin on 90k miles when I sold it and the build quality was far superior than any of my mates 172s/182s. Performance wise in standard trim the cupra was pretty tame but a simple £300 remap changed it altogether.
Just goin on what i've owned and my close mates all having clios at one point the Ibiza was a far better car IMO
PMSL
Look what youve dragged me into lol

172 handles better. Ibiza is built better + has more 'bang for your buck' modification wise. I preferred my 1.2 8v.

I actually like vauxhalls
Infact if someone with a blue astra VXR offered me a straight swap for my Leon I would probably take it

An ibiza with spacers and a decent suspension set up will handle as well as a 172 anyway.
well it will handle well enough against one thats being driven on the road i.e. not on a track. plus with a re map it'll be quicker too. I love my brothers ibiza cupra and I love the 1.8 20v engine thats in my golf. I think there great cars.

hmmm thats stretching it a bit i'm afraid, I had 20mm spacers on mine with the full H&R Cup suspension and my mates clio was a much better handling car and his was on lowered springs only.

Nic haven't you realised something? All the Ibiza owners that have replied here like/love the mk3, so they can't be as shit as you make out!
