The latest shape MR2's are awful cars!
I work for toyota so i should know
Always having engine problems, high oil consumption etc. etc.
Id recommend the old shape MR2, the Mk2 turbo, nice & reliable and pretty quick

He had an Mr2 and it was nasty. Big silly kit on it.
Z3s are highly probably to a number of faults. They are toy cars and ot really suitible for an everyday car now due to their age IMO. Mine had problems due to a previous owners neglect and some damage he tried to cover up (very well for the first 3months of ownership!)
New Mr2 are possibly one of the ugliest. most boring car styled ever. Old one is much nicer, however they are old and probably hard ot find a decent one. New cars ftw.
What about a 307cc? Meganne cc? slk (will be old tho)

yeah the slk are old ones in my budget, plus all auto, so not going to bother with that, i like the new mr2's , dont want 307 either ormegane, they are awful too, im happy to get the astra convertible 1.8, the turbo is also a possibilty but because i ony have 7 months left to pay on my insurance the monthly cost is alot witht he convertible turbo! i can do it, not a problem, but then again ive seen a couple of nice astra SRi turbos, the convertibles are really appealing to me though!!!

Something like this - http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/AUDI+TT/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-20-25-57-145-240-4294966148-4294966997/advert.action?R=200907328671655&distance=201&postcode=fk3+9ar&channel=CARS&make=AUDI&model=TT&min_pr=5000&max_pr=6000&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2000&vehicleRegLetter=X&loadCapTechSpec=true

Most things suggested in here are just destined to be complete money pits.
MX-5 or MR2 are both sensible options.

you cant jolt the car round corners else they just spin, there very fast in a straight line but cornering is shite, can be loud behind your head. In rain and flooding, if you hit water to fast they tend to skim more then turn, due to plates under the front body. I nearly bought one but personally i prefer the supra. mr2oc.com i think is the web site if you got any other questions

yeah i have looked at them , but the cost of an audi going wrong is hell of alot! and the high mileage id dont want, and im sure my insurance would be loads! and buyijng bits for them would kill me, i dont want one
i just want to choose between, the MR2, astra turbo convertible, 1.8 convertible and the SRi Turbo
i need to drive an mr2 i think!

I wouldnt say that, out of all the cars ive owned the Jap ones have been the dearest to repair. German cars have plenty of alternatives to main dealers for parts such as GSF & Euro car parts.

2 of my friends have them and swear by them, tried to get me to get one. Im a small car person, lol (no comments required) but i do repeat, they are fast, you can hit 70 very quick without realising, best to test drive one first, even if you dont intend on buying it, ask if you can try it and you will get the feel of it before you decide. lol
