Is that why you bought a bowl of chips for dinner? Saving for a rainy day?

And I save on occasion when I can be bothered and I want something like a new car or holiday, have some money tucked up from shares etc not a lot but I'd rather spend it then have money when I'm dead.

I gave up working with those c*nts to earn less money, do more work, longer days, and only 20 minutes each way.
Right call.
although i've just heard that all the wankers who stunted my career at my former place, and those that stunted everyone but their own prospects, have been made redundent and things are getting much better.
Bummer

Or because the menu didn't have anything decent
Daimo fortunately I enjoy my job lots plus working nights means I don't have trouble commuting like you did. Result at the moment as we are doing a big project at Stratford and I'm allowed to go straight to site, I leave my house at 12:15am to get there for 12:45am

I used to plead poverty with the rents when I lived at home = £40 rent /mth, with fuck all outgoings and a £30k salary.
I miss those days.

I was formally on a higher takehome wage than this, so know roughly how much you guys have to be earning, especially you London people....
£30k+ At the very very least
And the rest.......I'm on more than that and if I saved £1500 a month I wouldn't have enough left to cover rent/mortgage, bills and general living.

i feel this, i feel that everyone wants to get a house too early and will never enjoy proper disposal income until they are very old.
Unless i do something amazing I feel this is the only time I have to be an idiot and spend my wages on whatever i like, enjoy it before it all gets serious with a house, a commited relationship, a baby and so on. fuck that.

I'll totally agree with you on this one.... i spent a shed load of cash partying over the past 11 years so saving up and buying a place is the only progression for me now.... plus i want my own pad to make some good movies

I do, I save 60% of what I earn a month (and I don't earn that much TBH) and it really annoys me TBH, I still live at home and although I have a few outgoings I don't seem to need to save. Unlike my friends who are with their GFs and have what they need but are skint.
I'm looking for the right balance

Was putting £100 a week into a savings account, was on a standing order, so never forgot to pay into it.
Stopped it now though since I got laid off.
