Oh Graham, i'm gald your alright mate.
Car looks in a sorry state but at the end of the day it's a peice of metal, your life is far far far more important.
Get rested if you can to get ya strength back up, accidents take a while to kick in and you will feel like shit.
On the upside - the rack looks a bit fucked and the bodywork needs some attention, but, i've seen far worse back on the road?

Thanks mate, could have been worse so I'm glad it was just temp injuries, mostly shock and hyper-ventilating at the time! Just aching now but seen a couple of specialists this week and they've said I'll be ok.
Rested? I've watched so many DVD's this week due to just lying in bed
Yeah not sure if it'll be a write off yet, it's repairable, but it's whether economically they'll do it. I'm hoping for a write off tbh.

Don't worry it hasn't, I'm still going to get a new car but it won't be as exciting as planned. Just was hoping to have a fast car and bike at 20 years old, personal sense of achievement
Means I can hardcore save
Only annoying thing really is that my new policy started on the 2nd of January. So it's going to be 2011 before I earn another years NCB as I won't get one this year now.

I braked heavily, car veered left and clipped a car which sent me into a spin and I hit the tunnel wall, from what I've been told.

If you can get a decent enough quote, cancel it and start again. It'll be worth it.
Airbags?

I can't cancel it apparently? Soemone said I have to stay with the same company? Obviously I haven't queried the company with this so don't officially know, I'll make sure they deal with my car before messing them around. I can't imagine letting them repair my car then me cancelling the policy and getting my remaining figure back?
Airbags didn't go off, no idea why.

So you were racing, braked out of control (catching something up) and binned it.
Ohhhhh Graham, the shame.
The only time you need brakes in DT it to slow down, to put it back in 2nd, to pin it and listen to the engine roar
Naughty naughty, but you've suffered enough punishment

When the claim is through and through, some companies pay out and then cancel the insurance, some allow you to continue for free/small charge, some carry on anyway. Some allow you to cancel after a claim, some don't.

No you can't cancel I don't think. If you do cancel, you certainly won't get any refund once the claim has gone through etc.
Car looks mullered. Good job you're ok, that's the main thing.

That's what I thought, if they cancel the insurance after paying out then that hits me heavily, and will be very annoying.
Guess it's one of life lessons.

Norwich Union told me that my insurance was cancelled, then 6 months later found out that it wasn't so they refunded me the whole lot from after my accident
I'd started a new policy in the mean time

Mate it was awful! You can only look as far as your eyeballs will let you, otherwise it's just a case of counting how many imperfections are on the ceiling.
