I didnt mean on a ps2 mate, I meant a few dozen track days in real life at least to get an idea for what does and doesnt happen.
Which I doubt more than 1% of the users of this site have done.
Which is fine, but then maybe they should just stick to posting about things they have done, lol
Are you always this ridiculous? Even if it was 1% of the core users of this website, they would all still be better drivers than you hey?

Chip, with all due respect, you clearly know nothing about a lot of the members on this site, out of the people who posted in this thread, I would say that half of them have done their fair share of track days, maybe not as many as you, but they've still done a decent amount.
I've got nothing against you, you're a good laugh in person, but you can come across as a bit of a kid on the internet, fair enough being defensive when you've been mildly attacked, but you could do it with more maturity, instead of calling everyone a spotty kid who has a ps2. I know I'm neither....

If he put up pictures of the 50-60 or so times I went round the hairpin, you would find that about 30, it was a great drift on the way out, a few times I spun out pushing it and finding its limits, and the rest I was just trying different lines without sliding.
For those who want to comment, at least have a look at an actual video of what I was driving it like.
Here's one:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4S8O-Eoaprw
Its the first time ive driven the car in anger since I totally redesigned the rear suspension with homemade rosejointed arms and mk4 struts etc, and the first outing on the new engine.
I was there to learn about its handling, and that involves overcooking it now and then, thats what trackdays are for IMHO, it certainly beats doing it up the highstreet at those speeds (was doing 70mph when I spun it in those pics)
Id imagine most people commenting havent ever even been on a track, what with this being a site mostly full of spotty kids, LOL
Need to improve your throttle control. The car looks a bit snatchy when you overcook it.

"disclaimer" without owning a 300bhp+ rwd nova this is all theory
MY preference would be to use airfield days, mainly due to less risk of hitting things and ones i've been to being seen as generally more of a test than an out and out track day
regardless of people on forums, if the organizers (which im not sure as ive only ever been with people like MSV and javlin) were happy with track conduct then theres not alot people on here or anywhere can moan about

Yeah that is true, but what about the people who were there to take it seriously and improve on their track ability who were being held up like Rob has stated by someone arsing around?

Barnes, exactly the point, love the people telling me Im overcooking it on the throttle etc, I know I am, Im actually capable of pedalling a car round a track very neatly when I want to, ive been doing trackdays for about 15 years now so have picked up the basics like, I was just having a laugh and pushing the car and seeing how it reacted past the limit so I know what to do with it next etc.
I wasnt there to set any laptimes etc.
The spotty kid comment was purely to see how many nerves id touch with a quick stereotype as an irony test for those posting who were commenting just from a few loaded pictures of my car without knowing the whole story.

But there are people there with serious cars which cost them £££'s. Imagine being taken out by someone having fun in a Nova? Just need to show a bit of consideration really.

I spent VERY little timing holding anyone up, I know, cause I was there, lol
There were others out there FAR worse than me for holding people up, loads of the evos wouldnt pull over and let Rob past in the mk2 astra that I map for example.

My car has cost more than a lot of the cars there acutally, both in terms of money and definately in terms of time.
And I didnt take anyone out at all, what the hell are you on about, the only people near me when I spun it were my two mates in the evo and they knew I was going to be arsing about in front of them so kept a bit of distance, the only place I lost it at all other than that was at 5-10mph on the hairpin, and if someone gets taken out by that, then lets face it they wouldnt have managed a lap of a track without crashing anyway, LOL

i wouldn't say that, but when you see a series of pictures of the car spinning on various different sites you do wonder
chip has said what actully happend, then wound poeople up getting a reaction, hence page 3 and possibly 4
