Get a classic, even an STI for £4k, lowish miles, well looked after, then spend the £2k on insurance and have a grand left over if anything should happen. You really shouldn't max out your budget when buying any performance car. Any car can break. Don't get an old shit evo tho. If you can't afford a 7 or above then don't, end of.
