Powerful or not, the idea of having a 2.0l engine in a Fiesta is nice

My mate has a nice black 56 Fiesta ST, does seem nice.

As for wheelspinning. My shitty Vento TDI wheelspins if I change into second quick then hit the throttle!

I love the way they look (white with blue stripes ), but having driven one I do think they are vastly over-rated cars.

I think i'd rather spend the money on tuning an older 106 GTi than a fiesta ST.

Cannot see a reason why Ford didnn't put the ST170 lump in them, and my old corsa would eat Focus ST170s, and my corsa wasn't exactly "WOOOWW" fast.

Fiesta = OK chassis = Gutless engine (Standard) + better out there...

But then we owned corsas, so i'll shutup....

The reason they rave on about how good the chassis is because the car is so slow, my SXi handled better than my GSi but that was because I was going so much slower.

These facts are often overlooked when journalists do car tests.

i agree with this, i can could go round this bend quicker than my mate could in his 1.4 and that was before it was lowered

Daimo have you driven one? We had one on a test drive as we were thinking about trading in her Focus ST170 against one.

People often slate a car based on other peoples opinions rather than their own. I reckon if 90% of the people slating them actually drove one they would change their opinion immeditely. Its the same with French cars people slate them for being unreliable and built poorly yet they havent ever driven nor owned one?

I would rather spend money tuning the Fiesta ST than a 106 GTi (and I do love my frenchies) on the merit the engines have some serious potential. Look at some of the Jamsport cars and the Puma Build fiestas, even the Motune St180 very serious bits of kit!

People say they are heavy but again its all relative even my Clio is bloody heavy!

Thats because you wanted something decent out of the tin that didnt need tuning

Plus an ST is a bit of a birds car tbh

I didnt like the styling, seating vs steering position or the gearchange.
It was quick, but not fast and it felt light at times. Not a bad small performance car, although I do say performance loosely.
