I generally tip if the service is good and I have change in my pocket. Never more than a fiver though.

But I don't like people fishing for a tip, eg. I was in Glasgow at the weekend and the gf and I went for lunch, food was good and the service was also good, so I WAS going to leave a tip, but when I went to pay by card there was a gratitude tip on the bill! WTF don't ask for a tip, if you are deserving I shall give you one.

Sometimes some bastards expect tips, service is fine then they don't give you your change back, even if it is 50p or something. Then I go out of my way to get it back. leave them with nothing, cheeky swines.
